why should he go out of his way to fight Froch in Britain, or anywhere?

    MONEY.

there's more to it than money
if Ward gained something more than a payday out of it? maybe
but he won't lust the ducats enough to fight a guy he already beat
someone else he hadn't beat that could pay him top dollar?
that's different, go overseas and take care of it
risk a foreign soil robbery for a guy he whooped already? it's silly

There aren't many options left for him, then, at SMW.

The only 'money' fights for him in the USA are Chavez Jr., who hasn't moved up yet, and Hopkins, which would be a dull clinch-fest.

Like it or not, Ward isn't a PPV fighter.

Ward may as well take the rematch since so many want to see Froch get another L on his record.

Froch has a great fan-base. Got it. However, his skills are still not on par with Ward's. His jab only looks effective against slow boxers with ZERO head movement like Kessler.

So many boxing fans (with an HIDDEN AGENDA) want the American badasses (Floyd and Andre) to lose. Hold your breath on that one. In the meantime, continue to make up nonsensical rants about how they are ducking everyone and they're not draws.

Agenda laced fans used to say Mayweather couldn't draw flies to **** and that he couldn't even sell out an arena in his own hometown.

As of 2013, Floyd is the highest paid athlete in all of sports.

Ward will be okay even if he never steps foot over in the UK. Just like Floyd and Roy before him.

          No worries.

Andre can just go the Bernard Hopkins route and defend his title againt mandatories until a viable opponent rises from the ashes.

Calzaghe made a career out of doing this very thing.

At some point Ginger will be a middleweight.

Ward already said he is more than willing to travel and that he would love to fight in the UK in particular. But he is no fool, he isnt gonna give up leverage in negotiations for nothing. Like he said all along, make it worth it.

Ward is universally regarded as the best 168lber in the world, ward is a top 3 p4p fighter and he already handed froch his ass once with one hand. He doesnt need froch, unless froch wants to go down in history as the second best smw of his era he does needs ward. Sure he could make money elsewhere but he would always be #2.

Ward wants froch again, thats apparent. But he isnt gonna bend over backwards to get him, which he shouldnt. Im not so sure froch really wants it, if he did all he has to do is make it worth while for the man in the division aka andre ward and he can get fcked up anywhere he pleases. Just make it worth it, ward cant go around the world beating up on his own leftovers if theres nothing in it for him.

people get the Froch-Ward fight confused with his other fights. Froch was the toughest opponent Ward faced so far. Two judges had that fight 115-113.. Froch needed one more round to make it a draw.

I had it 116-112 Ward personally. Still Froch won the last 3 rounds so it's not like Hatton/Mayweather.. Hatton just got worse as the fight went on, Froch got better and won the later rounds. Maybe he figured out Ward by the end of the fight or maybe Ward just got tired but the momentum was with Froch when that fight ended.
Those two judges got the fight wrong and so did you. It wasn't close at all.

I think this fight will happen.. eventually..

But it is not ideal the talk of it now as they wouldn't have time to prepare for a summer fight at the City Ground or Meadow Lane which would get a crowd of 30k or more.

Wembley would still be a possibility in September time although that can again cause clashes with the England football team.

So the big football venues would be an issue now compared to if they were talking about this 3/4 months ago.

Therefore it is either back to the o2 arena infront of 18/19k or the fight would probably not happen until next year.

It could be because he saw Andre Dirrell handle Froch easily and get pinned with a "loss".

Regardless, he should go to the UK and fight Froch. It's by far his biggest available fight and he will win easily (again). It's a no-brainer career-wise. I'm not sure what the hell he is thinking. Hopefully he's trying to negotiate and intends to take the fight.

Of course, Hearn will have to come up with a real offer. It's very possible that having seen Froch lose to Dirrell and Ward (not to mention almost lose to Taylor) that they don't want him in there with any fighter with exceptional handspeed. Froch really is tailor-made for Ward.
