[QUOTE=techliam;13424349]You have a strange way of looking at Froch. Nothing stylisically that'll bother him? He just faced a man who beat him. I bet you're one of those guys who claims Kessler was shot to pieces.

    -----------------------------

Nothing stylistically will bother him. Wtf? Stylistically he really struggled with Dirrell and Ward. And most that understand boxing know that he'd most likely struggle with B-Hop too.

Kessler and Froch are on a similar level of ability - of course that's a fight Froch wants coz it is v winnable. I've never said Kessler was shot to pieces so I am not one of those, he is on the slide though and almost every Uk journalist article written prior to the fight I read, pundit and many ex boxers and trainers all said the same - he isn't what he was.

That being said - he is an elite fighter.

    --------------------------------

I think if you know anything about the guy, is that he'll fight anyone. The guy never had anything given to him, and now that he's finally got the recognition he deserves, he shouldn't have to go back to his old ways. Ward is no1 of the division no doubt, but you know, noone has ever claimed Froch is an ATG. He's just the man of the division, even if he isn't the best. Your conclusion that he's giving it up isn't justified so i'll just leave it as a matter of disagreement of opinion.

    ---------------------------------

No he won't, he won't fight Cleverly or step out of his comfort zone to go to LHW. He probably doesn't want to fight a catchweight with Hopkins either.

He entered the S6 thinking he would be the best guy in it with Kessler his main rival, the American's (Dirrell and Ward) were supposed to be novice's to make up the numbers along with Taylor.

Didn't quite work out like that though and he ended up losing to Kessler (who on another different day he knew he could beat) and Ward (chances of Froch winning are v remote).

Just before the Kessler fight Eddie Hearn claimed Froch to be an ATG if he beat Kessler so you're wrong on that. If he doesn't face the best - Ward, Hopkins then my opinion will become fact and I'll be right. If he does, I'll retract my comments on here and say I was wrong.

In summary, I think Froch would have fought anyone when he had more to gain as he was unknown, so would therefore be more prepared to take risks.

Now that he is finally receiving positive mainstream press in the UK and wider recognition and adulation from the general public (not just boxing or sports fans), I believe he fears what another loss, especially an embarrassing one-sided one will do to the perception of him.

For this reason, I believe he will play it safer with the fights he takes.

Don't me wrong, it's not that I think he only wants acknowledgement the public irrespective of his legacy. No. I know that he does care about his legacy, but I don't think he feels he can beat Ward or Hopkins and therefore won't bother trying.

The only way Ward-Froch II happens, and I really couldn't careless if it does or doesn't, is if Ward doesn't feel interested in fighting anyone else from 168-175.

Ward already won the first fight by a comfortable UD.

If he wants Froch, he should just go ahead and fight him in the UK, and do whatever else needs to be done within reason.

I really don't see the big appeal in the rematch in terms of an event.

Froch does exciting fights and that's what people love to see, hence the 3 hour arena sell-out and PPV...why make a rematch with one of the only guys to make a Froch fight dull? It would be similar to the first fight which was a snoozer.

Yes, Ward travelling to the UK, or anywhere for that matter, to fight a good opponent would help his legacy and earn him more respect, but he doesn't seem too keen and ultimately, I certainly won't complain about not seing another clinch fest.

If Ward comes more aggresive like he did against Dawson it can be a much better fight. I agree th, unless he gots robbed, he wins all day
Ward is still young and still flat broke for a #2 P4Per...

The Dawson fight was a "home affair" -- Aren't both Ward and Chad promoted by the same person?
Chad came to give Andre a help in hand -- Dawson had nothing to lose: he's still #1 at the 175, he still has his belt...
Anybody: Please, don't remind me about the Dawson fight...

Both Froch and Ward are interested in money -- no matter how boring the fight will be...

I'm not talking about the fighters; I understand why they would want it.

I'm talking about from a fan perspective. Froch is now a BIG name and the fans love him for exciting fights and gaurenteed action, I don't understand why they would want to pay for a rematch of a boring clinch-fest.

Because as well enjoying all action match ups. Boxing fans want to see 'the best v the best regardless of styles and whether its an all out war. Genuine boxing do anyway.

The 'snoozefest' 'exciting match up's' have to be the most repetitive lines continually used as an excuse to veneer over or away from the fact that they do not want Froch to face a certain style of fighter and, the best and one of the best two fighters at SM and LHW i.e Ward and Hopkins.

We'll probably hear these lines another 10 times today.
