Sorry, I don't think I made your point because your point was basically : "when has Mayweather fought when the odds were against him?", not did he fight everyone he should have. Not favorite but at least not be a mismatch blowout, But you made my point We cant say because he never actually faced them is my point, he "Retired" when 147 was hot and couple guys where being talked about then he never fought, no Pacquiao when he seemed like terminator just like Donaire seemed before Rigo took on him either.
For the record i think Floyd against those fighters people talked about would have won but the point is he never even took the chance.
The odds haven't been against him for a long, long time. You can't level that at someone for being too good, or like I said, level the same on at Wlad. I'm not going to get into the great "ducking" debate as it's been done to death and back. Did you read one of my previous posts?
I basically stated the point that history is full of boxers with a massive win their careers? Some that can be judged as bigger than any in Mayweather's career. But how many have performed so consistantly well at Mayweather's level? Even if it isn't always at the level WE want, it is still pretty high. If anyone could do it, surely more would.
So again, does one massive win make a career and does the lack of one (but traded for very good ones) break a career? What exactly is the point trying to be made here?Last edited by Marvellous1; 05-25-2013, 01:01 PM.Comment

I don't think Floyd has. Most of his fans don't think so either.
That's why after Pac-Marquez 4 many came on here as if it was a Floyd victory. Same with Martinez-Williams 2 when they said "so this is the guy you wanted floyd to fight" (there was demand at the time for a Floyd fight with Williams). We could go on and on. Only fans who are insecure about a fighter's record would do that.
I'm not hating on Floyd. I truly believe Floyd would have beaten Pac, Williams (at 147 which Williams offered), Cotto at that time, Margarito (though that would have been the hardest test). Even now I think he beats Canelo in a fight I'm sure will eventually happen.
But I can't credit him with those wins as he didn't get in the ring to beat them at the relevant moments in time. I can credit Rigo though for schooling a highly regarded Donaire. So I give this one to Rigo.Comment

I respect your opinion, but I think that Donaire is better boxer than Castillo and Corrales.Originally posted by Johnny CageCastillo arguably has a win over Mayweather, Julio, 2 over Johnston, Casamayor, Corrales and Bazan.
It's not even close.Comment

I happen to think that Mike Tyson and Don Curry are better boxers than Nonito Donaire. Lloyd Honeyghan and James Douglas beat them. What do you make of that in relation to Guillermo Rigondeaux (who I happen to rate pretty highly)?Comment

you are such a hater so salty. hahaFloyd has no 1 on his resume to compare to what Nonito did or Rigo. Floyd also has no career defining win, nor any great defining performances against a top notch prime elite fighter. Excpet for Corrales and Castillo of course. Which Floyd turned out bigger than by about 2 weight classes.Comment

Imagine, you guys are saying that Floyd had to leave TR to get a fight going with Oscar BUT Manny fought Oscar ......Originally posted by Johnny Cagelike arum would have ever let floyd fight cotto after leaving TR. how many non TR fights have his big money makers even had
Floyd could have fought whoever he wanted. He just didn't want it as much as his fans are pretending that he did.Comment
