this has to happen...just for 2 reasons...Rigo gets another good payday that he totally deserves (and maybe his last good pd cause the competition looks garbage) and cause of seeing Donaire getting outclassed again & hearing with what excuses he will come up with this time...

I feel If someone mentions a injury before a fight they would be pulled out of the fight would they not?
Maybe this injury was sustained throughout this fight...
Doesn't make sense to me but who's there to prove it?
IF he is lying I'm certain he wouldn't be aiming for a rematch after that first fight.Comment

They need each other (Rigo & Nonito)$$$$$$$ Donaire can beat Rigo but he would have to make it a very ugly fight and yes he would have to "eat some punches" but so would Rigo and in there lies the fight!!! Can Rigo "take" the shots? How about Nonoito?? Can he??? He was busted up pretty good!
Donaire must get over the southpaw jinx that is definetely affecting him because he stand on the outside boxing his way in! Rigo has seen to many upright boxer in his lengthly amatuer career. The fight must be a slugger vs the counter/boxer and thats that! Ray.Comment

B.....but.....but.....but Donaire was the 2012 fighter of the year, beat 4 champions in a year and he was cleaning up the sport of Boxing with VADA testing. Then a little Cuban who was calling him out for years finally earned a shot since Donaire was forced to fighg him because Arum thought nothing of Rigo and when the fight got made Rigo bend over backwards and agreed to all of Donaire terms.
Fight week came around and Donaire stated he was in the best shape of his life and even starting bragging about how Rigo didn't even looked him in the eye and that Rigo is nervous. Then weigh in comes and Donaire insults Rigo with lowering himself to Rigo's eye level. At last fight night came around.............
RIGO TAXED THAT ASS AND MADE DONAIRE LOOK LIKE A CHUMP WHO WAS NOTHING BUT A HYPE JOB!! Lol Donaire keep crying a river!!Comment

You're one to talk about someone getting defensive when you're the one here making stuff up that someone called Donaire a liar. You're pretty much putting words in their mouth.Originally posted by Keitha313Quote:

Of course Donaire was worried about getting countered but it doesn't totally explain the lack of right hands.
That's all I've been saying and you're acting like I'm picking Donaire to KTFO Rigo in the rematch.
Let it slide dude, some people are just really defensive when it comes to there favourite boxers.
You have made some good points though I agree, like I said people saying it's all excuses that Donaire is making...
Why did he get surgery?
I still think Rigondeaux probably wins in this rematch but I think it will be a more competitive fight this time around If it does happen that is!
For those saying Donaire needs to earn it???
Rigondeaux will gladly take that rematch at the snap of the fingers, he wants the big pay-day and the only other real big pay-day out there (realisticall) for him atm is Abner Mares but that's a matter of opinion, whether Mares will go down weight or a catchweight is set.

Right, because Donaire was walking through Rigo's punches and being as reckless as he usual is against #1 beasts in the division. And no, you're not giving the guy full credit when you're whining about how Donaire's shoulder played a significant part his performance.I gave the guy full credit, go to the RBR thread. -Didn't wanna sign the contract until his co promoter resolved the dispute with Top Rank.
-Didn't sign the VADA papers until the day of the press conference.
-Asked for USADA instead of VADA.
Is that what you call bending over backwards?Comment

You don't really have to rewatch the fight. Look at every Donaire fight since Darchinyan. He eats punches whenever he gets hit flush, walks through them and gets his own work. Nobody's punch deterred him up until Rigo. In the first round, as you posted earlier in this thread, you could tell it was already over.I'm not saying that's the case but it could be possible. I'm gonna finish rewatching the fight today. The reason I say it could be possible is cause Donaire probably went into the fight not thinking much of Rigo's power but once he felt it it couldve made him hesistant. He also said Rigo had "decent" speed but once he saw it irl could've made him hesistant too. I guess we wont know for sure.

Donaire never had to worry about being hurt, but against Rigo, a guy who's always competed at '22, who knows how to throw power punches, made him wary of that. If Rigo doesn't open up in that first round and comes out timid, we may be eating crow, but instead we're not. Apparently, neither are stans, but what can you expect from them.Comment

That's like Dawson crying about the weight after the Ward fight. Or Trout's conditioning coach talking about his ankle after losing to Canelo.
Completely understand that the shoulder is a crucial tool in the sweet science, but let's not act like Rigo was open to be hit with the right, let alone that not even being an important weapon in Donaire's arsenal. Rigo did so many things in there that Donaire had never come across, ever. Stop discrediting the guy already.Comment

Good job pointing out the one example there is that I already pointed out.
But... Nishi is a beast, he beat Rafa Marquez, he's the #1 guy in the division.Comment
