You are right about Canelo fighting in spurts but does Chavez have the foot speed to consistently take advantage of that? No way.
Who hits harder? Sergio or Canelo?

Chavez is a cruiserweight who's really good at cheating the scales.

Btw, why is nobody bringing up the fact that Chavez has refused to give a urine sample for the last 4 fights now?

I mean wtf? And one of the few times he did give up his piss, he tested positive for PEDs and got a slap on the wrist. Chavez is the dirtiest mother****er alive.

He said he wanted to give honor to the chavez name but he's done nothing but **** on it lol
Chavez enters the ring in the low to mid 180s, I don't see where your getting 30 pounds from. Funny enough, and I hate to involve Floyd in this, but Canelo would have a more significant weight advantage against Floyd. Chavez would have 10-13 pounds on Canelo, while Canelo would have 22 pounds on Mayweather.

Martinez does, not by much but definitely Martinez, more because of the speed factor too. Canelo however (I don't think anyone can dispute this) variates his attack better, consistently throws harder punches.

            Floyd is 5'7

            Canelo is 5'8

            Sergio martinez is 5'11

Chavez made martinez look like a midget.

Canelo comes in around 170, chavez comes in around 190

I think JR pressures Canelo and stops him late to mid rounds. A LW hurt Canelo, I think a LHW would put him away.

Good fight though, I'd love to see it.

But Sergio has the ability to throw shots you don't see coming. He also uses his legs much better to position himself to throw shots on a guy like Chavez.

If Canelo stands in front of him, and goes blow for blow, it could be a nightmare for Canelo.

Sergio's legs are what kept him safe in the fight.

Canelo entered the ring weighing 172 against Trout, I'm more than certain Chavez didn't put on no 30+ pounds over night, that sounds ridiculous. I've seen fighters put on 17-18 pounds, Pacquiao, Guzman did it at SFW or at times 15 pounds. Just think about 30 pounds for a second.

I don't think Canelo moves like Martinez does. I also don't think that Canelo has more power than Andy Lee. And Canelo takes too much time off in almost every round. I still believe Chavez is one of boxing's most effective pressure fighters. I don't see Canelo hurting Chavez and I don't see him fighting a full 3 minutes for 12 rounds either.

Canelo will look good early, but the size and pressure will get to him late. I see the fight being a carbon copy of Cotto/Margarito 1.

I understand that but Canelo is defensively responsible, he will block and smother Chavez if need be, which is what Martinez also applied.
