I think it would be a great fight that would be won by Canelo because he is faster, smarter, trains harder, and has better skills.Chavez always comes forward but he does not throw very many punches per round. From the numbers I have read on boxing scene Canelo averages lots more punches thrown per round or per fight. The fight would have to be at 160 since Chavez can't go any lighter than that. Canelo made it clear that he will only fight at 154 unless he can no longer make that weight and he is having no problems making 154 now. He said all challengers can go up or down in weight to fight him but he only fights at 154. Arum and Schaefer hate each other and will not do any fights together.

A fight where Canelo's combination punching will be on full display, I'm sorry but there is no way I could see Chavez winning this fight. His face isn't gonna hold up well eating that kind of leather. I think Martinez is a better fighter than Canelo, but Canelo variates his attack better, he will get through and around Chavez's guard. You are right about Canelo fighting in spurts but does Chavez have the foot speed to consistently take advantage of that? No way.
