Pac was happy to split the "risk". Which was the right thing to do, just negotiate the percentage

Arum stayed silent on that when GBP called him out on doing it. Why not let the accounting firms work out the #'s rather than boxer's egos?

This is really simple: when Arum pays Pac, there's no additional cut. Freddie takes his, Koncz, Buboy, all those guys, but he's done with Arum. Pac doesn't mail him a check for 27% of what he just received, that'd be ******ed. When people say Arum rips Pac off, what they mean is, the pot is much bigger than what Pac sees.
i disagree, i think arum gets a cut of his purse, as did (does?) golden boy. its in his contract ... indeed, it would be weird for pac to mail arum a check for 27%, but all arum has to do is take it out of the back end revenue along with recouping all of the money that he advanced pac

              So you're saying a flat 40m was

              a) a fair offer
              b) a smart one for Pac to take

Per Dan Rafael. Pac's recent guarantees were 26. That's the minimum he was due, and it was paid by Arum. If he takes anything off the back end, that's on top of the guarantee. You can't lose money on the back end!

                  It's like this:

Pac (or any fighter) fights on another promoters card for a fixed amount of money > promoter takes a fixed cut (his "minimum"), fighter gets the rest
Pac (or any fighter) fight on his own promoter's card > his promoter pays him some guarantee + backend (if any), the fighter does not owe the promoter anything beyond that. The promoter negotiates the fighter's purse so he'd usually walk away with more than his minimum.

for example, for either JMM 3 or 4 TR + Pac's combined share was $40m+. Pac saw 26m, maybe a little more with upside. Arum walked away with more than 27%

with floyds offer, he would have been the sole promoter, of course he should have received most of the revenue (like arum does when promoting pac)

according to some of you, floyd is supposed to guarantee an enormous purse and front the money for all the expenses (purses, marketing, golden boy, etc.)? while pacquiao assumes no risk??

now if you want to argue that offering a monetary sum while cutting arum out of the promotion was a ridiculous offer, then you have a point ... but $40 mill was FAR from a ****ty deal. its easily the highest guaranteed purse in the history of boxing
you say this like Manny has no promoter. Floyd just found another way to make it appear to his dumb fans that he wanted to fight. as it is, does he even have a promoters license yet?
