It's very easy to say that now that Pac's been slain by Marquez. But at the time....it was a ridiculous offer that no one would have taken. Floyd was literally trying to get him to take ZERO PERCENT of the PPV money while he takes 100% of it. That's ******ed. If the fight had gone through the live gate would mostly be contributed by Pacquiao fans, while the PPV numbers probably would have been split down the middle. It made no sense for 1 fighter to take 100% of the PPV while the other gets 0%. But again, this is just another case where Floyd fans use Marquez' achievement in order to bash Pacquiao.

Was it not Manny who refused drug testing for 2 years??? Was it not Arum who said Manny had such a bad cut that he couldn't fight in May, only June, but when Floyd was supposedly going to jail May was cool, than he wasn't, and May wasn't cool again??? Was it not Arum who said he only wanted the fight at a super duper mega stadium that couldn't be built in time??? Was it not Floyd who backed off the 50-50 agreement in 2010 and said he doesn't deserve 50-50 in 2012???

All of them played a role, it's not just one man's fault. When the chips were down and everything was on course for March 2010, it wasn't the guy everyone loves to hate who walked away to fight Clottey. But I've always maintained it's the Floyd-Arum relationship as to why Floyd-Manny, Floyd-Cotto, and Floyd-Margarito didn't happen at certain times.

Cotto moves up to 154 and breaks free from Arum, the Floyd fight is made. It's no coincidence the guys he supposedly avoided were all Arum's guys.

Manny's got 4 fights left with Arum, according to Bob himself, one this year, two in 2014, and one in Spring 2015.

Floyd's last fight of the showtime deal will be Fall 2015. I'd bet my account it'll be Pacquiao, if Manny wins these next few fights of his, and Manny was looking damn good aside from 2 punches in his last fight. There's too much money for Floyd and Manny to leave on the table for that fight to never happen.

It's too late. Every boxing aficionado wanted Floyd to take the fight as soon as possible because things, like many in life, happen, unforeseen accidents on both sides, politics, fighters getting incapacitated, etc. He won't listen. All the excuses Floyd made just got demolished by just one incident. Pacquiao got punked by Marquez.

And now he has to fight five more times to earn what he could made in just one fight, which is probably equivalent to three fights. But I can't blame him. Fear of losing overshadowed everything.

PAC should have snapped his hand off with that offer 40 mill is susbstansially more than PAC has ever made and more than he's likely to make for the rest of his career.

He had poor advisors around him! It's all good saying he deserves a percentage but that 40 was real money not projected potential earnings! Floyd will go on to earn more than that loads more fighting Canelo will pac ever even get half of that?

Pacquaio didn't really turn down $40 million because Pac dioes not have the authority to negotiate on his own behalf. He works for Bob Arum and Arum determines who he fights, when he fights and how much money he makes. Arum had no intention of making a fight with Mayweather after the first and only negotiation failed. Pac had no more authority to accept the offer from Mayweather than Nonito Donaire had the authority to accept the $3 million offer from GBP to fight Abner Mares.

ps.....for all of you dumbass pac fans, there are multiple interviews where floyd has stated if pac would have just accepted the 40 million initially, they would've talked about the back end ppv split later. you think floyd would give cotto 35% and give pac nothing? pac fans are the ******est fans on the planet.
