He was visibly fatigued in the fight with Trout while only throwing 36 punches per round. He hasn't shown anything that would make a reasonable fan think that he will be able to chase Mayweather around the ring pressuring him for 12 rounds. The only reason that you're hyping up Canelo as if Floyd has to fight him to prove himself is because he's clearly bigger and stronger. Skill wise, he's not seeing Mayweather and you know it.

What you need to understand is that it's not up to the fans as far as what Mayweather does or doesn't do. If Floyd wants to take the fight he'll take it, if he doesn't he won't. The size difference may be an issue to Floyd or it might not be, soon we'll all find out. You seem to be irritated that some fans understand why the size/weight difference might be an issue for Mayweather.

My irritation is with fans just like you. Floyd can beat everybody, but he doesn't actually have to fight the most dangerous fighter at the time to prove that. The word you used is correct! Threat! Fight anyone that's an actual threat. Paul Williams in his time, Pac, now Canelo, fight someone with a chance! Some kind of advantage. Make it interesting for the fans! Floyd doesn't have to fight anyone because I said so or any fan, but I promise you this! He won't get many more 32 million dollar plus pay days fighting the Robert Guerros of boxing and the numbers prove that! The next PPV will do worse if he doesn't step up! But lets see it your way, we don't even need to fight the fights, he can beat Canelo no problem, so fight Khan cuz that will surely prove how great Floyd is

You're irritated with the fact that I'm a fan and not a hater such as yourself. The feeling is mutual. Guerrero was an actual threat. Don't get it twisted man, just because Mayweather makes his opponents look like bums doesn't mean that they actually are bums. It takes hard work for Mayweather to make it look as it easy as he makes it look. You're the type who resents the guy for being as good as he is. "Oh you're supposed to be best huh? Well go up to fight a guy at a weight that's not your best against an opponent who's naturally 20-25 pounds heavier. If you don't then you're ducking him" Sorry, I'm just not on that. It's not Floyd's fault that he's so good that people are now convinced that the only fighters who pose a legit threat are guys with a distinct size and strength advantage.

Now you're just posting typical hater speak. When was he supposed to fight Paul Williams? More importantly when did Williams become some atg that would have been a career defining fight for Mayweather? The Pacquiao thing has been discussed ad nausem and it's obvious that Pacquiao and Arum share just as much of the blame(even more imo simply because they needed it more) for that fight not happeneing as Floyd does. Canelo just got his 1st legit win a month ago and you haters are already whining about him being ducked.

F the fans like you. The only thing that you'll find interesting is seeing Floyd lose. Floyd could fight Canelo and beat him by staying outside and boxing his ears off and you'd complain about it being boring, saying that Floyd "ran". You people aren't real fans, you're haters. The man is universally respected as the best of his era by his peers and other people that hold weight within the sport, but he's mainly disrespected by the socalled fans here. The fans of this site are a joke. You're only hoping that the Guerrero fight didn't do good numbers. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing him fight Canelo next at 54, but not because I'm buying the hype that Canelo is some career defining opponent. I wouldn't mind seeing him fight the guy just to shut people like you up(which deep down I know won't happen anyway because you'll just hop on the next bandwagon). If he doesn't fight him though, my world doesn't end. I won't throw a hissy fit calling him a duck, or act as if it takes away from his greatness. It's obvious to me that Floyd is a WW not a JMW. Anything he does at JMW is a bonus. Boxing is a business/sport, not a tough man competition.

mayweather is taller than canelo and has a longer reach ... also, canelo is not a pressure fighter (he has serious stamina issues) and his chin is completely untested
Did I just read this right? Since when has Floyd 5'7 if that been taller than Canelo easliy 5'10? Did they allow Mayweather to wear his 6" stilletos? The same ones he puts on for Ellerbe?

The only real threat that Floyd has fought in the last 6 years was Hatton and Ortiz and he had to sucker punch Ortiz to win. Quit being a fan boy. Guerrero was a threat based on what? nothing, JMM at 144 was a threat based on what? Cotto was a threat based on what? Had he fought a prime Cotto and not a war torn Cotto then yeah but he didnt
the thing is I keep it real you are a fanboy that can say nothing bad about Floyd, his record maybe perfect but he as a fighter and his resume are far from it.

You're a hater, so of course anyone who isn't a hater is a fanboy to you. You sound bitter and miserable, mad for no reason. There's no reason to even argue with clowns like. Stay mad.

I just want to pay for the best fight that can be made. Regardless if Floyd is way better then Canelo. Their both former or current jr mw champions. Stop trying to use bs to deny that. God, you idiots make excuses for a guy who is an ATG. Pathetic. You wanna see him fight devon or khan then in Sept?? Your an even bigger idiot then I thought.
