He will be in the line of fire all night long.
Yeah, he won't have a reach advantage. However he also possesses that equalizer. Granted probably not as much as Lucas, but his power is there. More than Lamont's. Thinking back, I don't think Lucas himself has faced anyone with Danny's type of power.

I for one am simply not gonna forget everything I know about anything just to ride a Mattysse high. Danny brings his timing, countering, balance and technical advantages to this fight. I won't pick a winner cause I think it's a pretty even fight.

I'm also still perplexed about this "Danny isn't tough as Lamont" myth that's flying around. Lamonts been down 4 times for sure and is on record for 6 at least, before he faced Lucas.

    • Too many people ruling out Garcia in here, yes Lucas demolished Lamont, but how good was Lamonts chin ? Pit Pat Khan put him down twice.

Secondly Lamont had nothing to cause Lucas any problems, he was slow, no power and just threw out a ****ty floppy jab on the backfoot.

Lucas style was made for boxers like Lamont

Garcia on the other hand hits hard and he can KO or KD Lucas, if he lands, got a nice looping left hook and a real vicious right hand

Lucas and Garcia hit very hard, I don't even think it matters who has a stronger chin because if they land flush on each other they will go down or be hurt

Now it's really about who can land the big bombs first, Garcia is a bigger guy, they are even when it comes to speed, it's a 50/50 fight. It'll be less about skill more about who drops the bombs, similar to a HW fight

        Danny's type of power?

He has 16 KO's. There were several guys he couldn't stop (i.e. Holt, Campbell) who've been stopped before.

And if we're gonna recollect today and talk about amnesia, let's be consistent. Don't just talk about Peterson being dropped several times; talk about Khan being KO'd several times before he fought Garcia. Not to mention, Khan was coming off a loss to guess who? Peterson before he fought Garcia.

Let's talk about how Morales was stopped several times before fighting Garcia.

I'm just saying, if we're gonna bring up old fights and recollect stuff, let's be consistent here.

Got a feeling Garcia will want no part of this..

He was shook badly after the win..
he did look a bit nervous after the mathysee win, notice when he's asked if he will fight lucas he doesn't say yes, just whoever they put in front of him,i have a feeling he'll go to 147,mathyssee has great power and can take a punch and his boxing is kind of underrated, poor danny

Danny is still peaking, his last few fights he has made his opponents taste the canvas, he has enough pop to hurt anyone who tries to trade with him

He's also looking bigger than ever, i'm not saying he will beat Lucas, but some people are ruling him out, which is a mistake. The kid seems to pull it out of the bag when it matters

had Maidana stopped Terrible, he woulda gotten 0 credit
and rightfully so, because Terrible is long shot
don't be fooled by the fact that he won a paper belt at JWW
Maidana is more wild than Garcia, despite being more powerful
Terrible did better vs more power/less speed than less power/more speed

I think garcias power is a bit overrated, when he knocked down khan it wasn't on the chin that he hit him,on the temple, neck and when someone gets hit on the temple they usually go down or wobble, notice after that how he hit khan several times on the chin and khan didn't go down but the ones on the head did make him fall, knocking out morales doesn't impress me either,he's old,fat and out of his weight class when he was in his prime, garcia looked slow agains Judah and his defense isn't the greatest either and I don't think it was that Judah was good that night it's just that Garcia isn't that good, too much is made out of his ko on khan,he was losing the fight until he landed that no look punch on the ear/neck

                  No, I'm ruling him out.

                  Look who Garcia dropped though?

Khan coming off a loss, Morales and Zab Judah.

I can show you several videos of Khan getting KTFO before he even fought Garcia. I'm not just talking about dropped. I'm talking about KO'd. That's not even counting the times he was hurt/wobbled and dropped.

Point is, Garcia has been fighting chumps. There's nothing he brings to the table that will trouble Mathysse. Absolutely nothing. That left hook from Garcia will be taken with a Coke and a smile.
