relax guys, Froch is just getting himself angry for the fight. It must be really hard to stay motivated for every pro fight you have, and Kessler seems like a really nice guy. I think Froch is just finding something to get worked up about that he can use in training to push himself.

That being said, if Groves' trainer is a friend of Froch's, and they share the same promoter, it's surprising that he's helping Kessler prepare for the fight. Would've expected Hearn to nix that idea as soon as he heard about it.

Would be good to see Froch-Groves soon, you can tell there's a bit of needle there and it'd be a good fight while it lasted.

Cleverley is supposed to be a world champion, bit sad that he's basically a sparring partner for someone. Then again maybe he took it as a learning experience as it'd be the first time he ever shared a ring with a world-class opponent.
It's all a conspiracy, Groves will tell Froch what Kessler is working on.

Froch can say a lot of the right, nice, decent things at times. Hence I managed to like him a little now. Trouble is, I just don't believe what he says and as I think most don't.

There's something likeable in facing anyone, but dislikeable about his personality which has led him to just not be taken well by the British public on the whole.

How many British fighters or person in the UK business speak well of him? Very few. WHY?????

So, they are getting in some good sparring and a decent paycheck from Kessler.

Something they could've gotten from Froch, IF HE HAD HIRED THEM!

I was on the fence before, but after this whining from Carl, I'm all for Kessler owning him in this fight.

This. I'm tired of the nationalistic bullshit, these fighters don't owe Froch a damn thing.

Sorry, but Froch would beat Cleverly.

                -----------------------------------

I guess we'll agree to disagree on this one, and I do believe it would be close, but i have good reasons for believing Clev gets his hand raised.

Doesn't look like its going to happen, certainly not anytime soon anyway.

                  I hope kessler beats him

Froch would be humbled, he could still fight at world level but..

he has a few brits he can take care of, I hope he gives them a pasting and give them both there first loss

and it won't matter, Froch will beat Kessler again anyway
Kessler got a hometown call the last time, Froch won it close
this time Froch will beat his ass decisively
                    Lol ..
Froch landed a combined 19 shots the last 5 rounds. And a combined 79 throughout the fight. It was close, but a UD for Kessler was well deserved. He almost doubled Froch's punch output and specially in the last part of the fight he came on stronger.

All you need to do is go back and watch the end of the 12th round. Froch's people were comforting him and put an arm around his neck. Kessler's people were celebrating. A fighter knows when he's been beat, and Froch knew it after the last bell.

The fact is, his resume is pretty darn terrible, hence he's not regarded as a true Champ, only a titlist. The best opponent in my opinion is Bellew, and that fight was either way - not a clear win. As Froch said before, Cleverly is a WBO Champion not a World Champion. Until proven otherwise of course.

                      --------------------------

I'm not dis*****g what you say, but this hardly applies to Cleverly alone.

Really, every strap holder of the 4 belts except the Ring is a titliist and not a World Champ, that includes Froch. In modern day boxing Froch wouldn't have been World Champ as he has never been no:1 or beaten the main man in the division - he's been the best of the rest, never the best of the best in his division.

I agree Clev's oppo needs to improve but Cleverly is offering a fight to Froch/Kessler and is on record as offering Froch for a good while now. Cleverly seems to want the big fights and step up.

All he's doing is asking Froch for a fight and has sparred Kessler.

Why does Froch run Cleverly's opponents on the back of this, when he himself doesn't seem to want to fight him. All he has to say is Cleverly can spar who he likes it does't bother me and a fight with Cleverly is sometime away whilst I have bigger fish to fry and he proves himself against higher level oppo.
Using your logic then, Cleverly would be around around rank 5 or 6 in the world rankings without these belts. Without these belts, why would Froch even consider fighting Cleverly? He wouldn't, so unfortunately we have to accept that these belts mean something.

As you said, Cleverly should be upping his opposition at 175 rather than chasing Froch, whom is only a titlist at 168. Unless he goes down to 168, I don't see how Cleverly would get any credit for beating Froch at 175 simply because Froch is very very effective at 168 and has never been above the weight.
