I'd actually like to see Broner fight Zab right now. Anyone would be a step up from his recent opponents.

Very true statement here. Again: short memory syndrome....Zab was a supreme talent, he had all the natural ability of Bronner, had a great instinct in the ring, and had a lot going for him.

      Who knows?

If he is, it isn't a bad thing. Zab has had a good career. 5 time world champ and undisputed champion at 147. He didn't live up to the "ATG" expectations that people placed on him for whatever reason, (probably because people fall in love with and overrate speed and power) but based on his skills and abilities his career has been a success.

        Great thread!

Ok now on to the comparison:

Both guys have/had the same attitude. Either guy is charming, nice individually but thuggish in groups. Both guys are supremely confident and have incredible natural talent. It hurts me because I feel as though both these guys as individuals are good kids (Judah is still a kid to us old screwheads approaching 50!)....They need a guy who will be their daddy! AMike Tyson like presence, or a Cus Amato presence like Tyson had....Broke my heart when Sweet Pea couldn't do it for Judah...I really hoped that we might see a disciplined, emotionally matured Judah.

The problem with both these guys is NOT the training!! Judah has always been a hard worker, and so is Broner....the problem is emotional maturity. Kind of funny when ya think about it but actually? it takes a bit of maturity to hold it together when one gets belted in the mouth. Judah tends to fall apart under pressure.

Bronner is setting himself up for the same fall.... Here is how I can predict that with almost certainty: A) Bronner has a horrendous habit of gving away rounds. It means that he will have to operate at a loss when things get rough, you can best believe a guy like Malinagi is going to steal those first few rounds if Bronner lets him.

Bronner sets way to wide. He can't apply pressure this way, its that simple. With Judah his habits that killed him in the ring were a lack of direction from his corner, an inability to deal with getting hurt in the ring, and just a comensurate amount of ring intelligence to deal with the physical skills. Bronner will have the same problems...In the big leagues you can't give away rounds to a guy who has skills.

I hope Broner looks at this thread and maybe thinks about Judah a bit. I doubt he gets by Paulie frankly. He might get a gift decision is all

People focus too much on fighters OUTSIDE of the ring and want to use that to judge how good they are IN THE RING!

Broner not as talented as Zab was but he has a better work ethic and seems to be stronger mentally then Zab already so this comparison is...well...AWFUL! Zab problem was his work ethic, his father Yoel Judah would have to find Zab to get him to come and train at the gym, Zab preferred other stuff like hanging around in Brooklyn over training and thought he was talented enough to train when he wants and just show up and win based on his natural talent

Broner can be as good as he wants to be if he stays focus on his boxing career, he seems like a guy when it is time to train he is willing to work extremely hard and I think he has a good trainer in Mike Stafford who will keep him focus when it comes to boxing

            Haha

Seriously though, I hope for the sake of humanity this is sarcasm...

When I look at Broner, I see a lot more potential than what I saw in Zab.

              But time will tell.
