For $32M, Showtime cut put together 10 or 15 fights like Matthyse/Peterson

lol, i dunno why anyone keeps on throwing out these random names. floyd is gonna bring in money. theres no doubt about that. the estimates of the money he brings in on one event are unrivaled in the whole sports world. i dunno who he is or is not gonna fight, granted, but his track record is proven at this point. hes a hot commodity and u may say ppl are turned off by how he fights, but when u see him listed on forbes or all over espn the magazine, its kinda hard to igonore him. the guy is an even all unto himself. ppl may hate it, but its the facts.

I didn't see your breakdown, nor would I be qualified to judge it totally. But it's extra murky here since normally the network only gets a cut of the PPV, the promoter takes the rest (gate, international rights, etc) after the distributors get theirs. The promoter also has lots of expenses, including all purses. Here it's the network acting as promoter by making a huge guarantee. So does that mean they get all the promoter extras, gate etc? Not sure, GBP doesn't work for free either. But if you think of GBP and SHO as one and the same (not a stretch) then it's a different break even probably.

Other than Canelo, who's out there that would justify that guarantee, that's realistic?

          I think so.
Very good point. Fans will get to see more fights possibly every
weekend instead of having to wait for some superstar fighting
          in mismatches.
