Mayweather is the wrong fight for Marquez. Floyd made him the aggressor in their fight. JMM was the risk taker and entertainer. He is effective when he's fighting backwards and countering. It's impossible to do that with a guy who just do enough to win a fight.

JMM said it succintly when he was promoting the Pac 3:

" floyd is difficult becuase he does'nt like to fight. if the people want to watch a great fight, they need two fighters in the ring..maywaether doesnt want to fight, doesn't like to fight ..and in this fight (Pac 3), i think the difference is the weight becuse he dont give the weight(dont know what he meant there) and ah, he does'nt like to fight , mayweather ..it's very different , he does'nt like to fight and ah i want to fight ..and in this fight on nov 12, eh manny and me, everybody will be watching two warriors in the ring, that is the diffrence"

Did you just call a 39 year old JMM prime? LOL

I wouldn't say he was in bad condition for the Mayweather fight either.

I feel it may have been very different, had it been the Pacquiao before Mosley and of IV that fought that version of him.

No it wouldn't, JMM looked worse than he ever has in the last Pacquiao fight, sure he had more power but everything else was worse. The Mayweather weigh in pic shows a fit and healthy fighter that didn't drain to make weight.

The fight was also supposed to be at a catchweight but Mayweather didn't make weight.

If that poorly conditioned, sluggish version of Marquez showed up to fight Manny Pacquiao in any of their fights would he have been knocked out by Pacquiao?
That version of JMM showed up to outbox Pac 2 fights ago.

Floyd was the aggressor against JMM. Juan just said that mess about Floyd, out of bitterness. Floyd threw the first punch. He wasnt just waiting. He was capitalizing on ever single mistake, whether it be you lowering your glove, leaving yourself open for a few seconds, or you throwing a wild shot.

No, it would be the same result a close fight, against Pac, Marquez wouldn't be the aggressor he would go back trying to counter and time Pac coming in.
