The thing that may do Matthysse in is that he is a lil slow and he throws his punches wide. Lamont if he is smart will stay up close and get to the body. Big puncher like Matthysse needs to get the wind taken out of his sails.

Saying Lamont is overrated is absolute BS!
He completely out hussled Amir Khan and gave him a hiding.

Saying that though I think Matthysse is by far a bigger problem to Lamont than Khan would ever be due to his one punch knockout ability.

The ref helped him win that fight. And the hometown officials. Amir got out hussled, but it wasnt by peterson.

Another good match up in a year of good match ups. Lamont is not the hardest puncher out there but there is no way he is feather fisted either. If he hits Matthysse enough, he'll hurt him. Lucas could also be a better bet to spark Lamont than the other way around but I think it goes the distance....both guys are tough. It's going to be a good test & measuring stick for both fighters, though Lucas has more to prove at the moment, imho.

Not only is he a little slow but he can be slow getting going, last start out excepted. I don't know if he can batter Peterson late like he did to Judah....
