If you call yourself "#1 Floyd Hater" why should anyone listen to anything that you have to say against him? You have absolutely no credibility. And as long as you know that you should be okay with the fact that no one takes any of your thoughtless criticisms seriously. Lol...no he wont. His reputation is diminishing rapidly! His fights never have lived up to any hype. He makes money due to his opponents fan base and the boxing fans that wanna see him get brutally KOd. Or just beat up! That does NOT make you an ATG!
What kills him is his cherry picking opponents. Ducking fights FANS wanna see. All the hype networks like HBO and Showtime make to keep viewers happy wont account for ATG status when its all said and done.
Despite his small fan base. Floyd will always be remembered as a cherry picker.
The one who ducked Manny Pacquiao for the Biggest most anticipated fight in Boxing history.
The one who faked a retirement to duck the rematch with DLH. And the rest of the WW division in which was full of hot prime tough opponents!
anyone who cannot see this. Needs to have an evaluation!Comment

Right... Take a $7 million fight with Margarito over a $25 million fight with DLH... You are a new breed of intelligent you moron. DLH was both the more profitable fight and more dangerous fight at the time. Margarito?!?!?! Are you even serious? That fight would have been Baldomir part 2... Boring for all of us. Funny you mentioned Mosley because Mosley was the one who had just finished destroying Margarito when he fought Floyd. Besides, he called out Mosley in 2005 (so much for the 37 yr old garbage). Floyd just fought a fresh young gun and he is 36.. what is the difference?Where was Mayweather when Paul Williams was in 147?
Where was he when Margarito was a serious force in the division...
Fighting 37yo Shane Mosley... lmao
Then the whole BS with Manny Pacquiao, top 5 ATG's don't make excuses.
A lot of people acknowledge Mayweather for his cherry picking skills he's great at it, he's just as wonderful at it as Frank Warren was at it for Joe Calzaghe.
You should just accept the truth and praise him for being great at it.

Paul Williams I always thought would make it tough for Floyd but his lack of defense would have hurt him. They both had the same handler and I doubt either was scared of the other.. I don't think Al Haymon wanted to hand Paul his first loss. Paul ended up losing to Quintana, Martinez, and looked terrible against Lara. Paul was one of my favorite fighters but he had nothing for Floyd. I just hope he gets to walk again.Comment

This crap make me laugh...like athletes have evolved in the last 20 years...if that's the case hiw the hell is Floyd still dominating this hybrid athletes of today. How is Kobe still competing like top 5 in league if he's going against these young uber athletes.Ah yes, the Golden Age of boxing. When viewing the past don't forget to put on your rose tinted glasses.
No, I think people take a biased look at the yesteryears of boxing. Sports athletes are continuously made better in every generation due to scientific advances in exercising, nutrition, and dieting as well as an accumulation of knowledge on offense and defensive skills. You can't make a solid argument that boxers 20 years ago were better conditioned and coaches had more boxing lore stored in their head then boxers and coaches today.
Sugar Ray would be even better than he was according to ur theory.
Show me an athlete in the last 10 years that can do what Bo Jackson did
Show me an athlete in track that would run a sub 10 100 in the conditions Jesse Owens had
Freaks are Freaks they would dominate any era...those of the past would be even better then they were. According to u the NBA shoul be full of Lebrons due to all the advances, but guess what he's a freak...one of a kind.Comment

The fact that people like you believe that he needs to defeat fighters that have a huge size and weight advantage over him to prove his greatness shows me that you hold him to a standard that is higher than any other fighter which means that you already consider him to be one of the best fighter's in history. I don't hear anyone saying Canelo needs to fight Martinez or Martinez needs to fight Ward or that Ward needs to fight a Klitchsko to prove themselves. It's only about putting Mayweather in with a guy that outweighs him by thirty pounds and everybody else can prove their pound for pound worth by fighting in their own weight class. Floyd Mayweather is the best boxer of this era which automatically makes him one of the best fighters of all time. This is just common sense.Comment

So true great post! Mayweather is the only fighter that people say he should fight naturally way bigger guys to prove him self, Its crazy if you ask me!The fact that people like you believe that he needs to defeat fighters that have a huge size and weight advantage over him to prove his greatness shows me that you hold him to a standard that is higher than any other fighter which means that you already consider him to be one of the best fighter's in history. No, they did that with Pac way before they did it with Floyd.
Floyd always conviniently comes back when there is no one good in his division to fight, as his peers like Pac lose, so the only other option is to look to other weight divisions, and in this particular case the oppponent so happens to be operating in a division higher than Floyd.
Floyd no doubt has some of the greatest skills ever, but he just hasnt used them against all comers and often enough. Ive no doubt he would have posed problems for SRL, just like Pac would have done. But at least Pac can boast of a better resume than Floyd.
Even Floyd senior posed problems for SRLComment

Not true at all. Fighting outside of his weight division has never been a requirement for Pacquiao to be considered great. If anything, Pacquiao was been heaped with unwarranted praise for fighting De La Hoya at a weight he hadn't made in years in the last fight of his career and fighting Cotto and Margarito at catch weights. Last time I checked Pacquiao has been fighting as a welter weight for years and I don't hear anyone calling for him to fight Canelo, Martinez or Ward. Even after he won his fake junior middle weight title against Margarito that was stolen from Martinez I still haven't heard any cries for him to fight any other junior middle weights. He even turned down a fight against Yuri Foreman because he was "too tall". So just admit that their are two different standards for Pacquiao and Mayweather. No, they did that with Pac way before they did it with Floyd.

Alot of idiots on this thread.
Floyd had his chance to be the GOAT, just like Roy jones did. Jones never pursued the big fights when he waqs on top.
Floyd has done a great job and is the best p4p of his era. He is an ATG but not the GOAT
A few fights on his resume and he might have been. If he had maybe three of these fights on resume he would be up there
Prince naseem-2001
Freitas, Casamoyer, spadafora, stevie johnson @lightweight
Kosta tzysu at 140 in 2005
Margarito in 2006 when offered 9 million, took Baldomire fight instead
Sugar Shane in 2007 after oscar fight
Cotto or Margarito or Williams in 2008
Manny 2009-2012
Canelo-present
Broner-future
If he had just a few of these fights, say casamoyer, kosta, cotto in 08 he would def be conisdered the much higher in GOAT rankingsComment

I realize it takes 2 to fight and that some of these fights never happened bc they dodged floyd.Alot of idiots on this thread.

But since the oscar fight, floyd is the money man and main draw in boxing, he was the ability to make any fight possible, just like oscar, tyson, leonard, ali did in the past
MONEY makes all fights possible, and floyd has been calling his own shots since Oscar fight.
So i do blame him for any fights not made after oscar fight.
And dont blame arum. Arum did make the TITO-Oscar fight with don king and a bunch of other mega fights. Bob loves money. Floyd Could have done the manny fight with bob and made any demands he wanted as long as it was a top rank show and not split with golden boy. Bob just didnt want to work with golden boy.Comment
