Rigo doesnt have to chase anybody. He should stay at 122lbs and make his career there by beating all comers.

But if he's as good as people say he is, wouldn't he be able to make the jump?

            Fair enough. He's already a short-arse.

I would prefer to see the fight at 122 anyway.

Not really Mares brings the money, not Rigo, because even dough he beat Donaire, he does not possess a third of the star power Nonito or Mares possesses.

Beats frickin' DONAIRE (p4p stud muffin) and now he's shook vs a dude who just fought Ponce (love ponce but come on different leagues). I do love Mares and think Stylistically he makes a better fight for Rigo than Donaire but he's too reckless and if they fought at 122, He'd take a ton of damage. Ironically I think Donaire KOs mares yet think mares has a better chance to beat Rigo. Weird how that works

Absolutely, but he doesn't have to. There's nothing wrong with staying at the weight division he feels most comfortable at. He just unified, and he deserves some solid defenses. I really believe he could make bantamweight anyway.

Get real, Abner Mares showed very little skill against Ponce. It was nothing but a "rock'em sock'em" robot affair. Abner is MUCH easier to hit than Nonito. Rigo would stop him with in 8.
