Schaefer is pissed because no matter what the PPV lost money.

it needed 1.2 million buys to break even. so even if it had a million buys they'd be 200k short which means Showtime would have to make up for the $14 million those 200k buys would have been.

Schaefer can spin it however he wants but the PPV was a financial flop

that money will probably come out of the Showtime boxing budget which is probably around 28-30 million.

they've probably already spent 8-10 million already this year.

Danny Garcia got 1.25 million only for the Judah fight plus consider Canelo fought. when you consider all of the fighters purses and venue fees and operating cost 8-10 million seems about right.

Showtime might only have 6-8 million left for this year and they can't afford another Mayweather PPV that doesn't make money.

if Mayweather doesn't fight Canelo they'll be screwed

Mayweather hustled GBP which is hilarious

No way that's successful w/o Canelo on the undercard.
That's exactly what I was thinking.. Good thing is GBP n Showtime will do everything they can to get Floyd to accept a Canelo fight. Other then Canelo the only other fighter I see him doing close to a million buys with is probably Khan.. And I do mean probably.

If Schaefer believes it's over a million then why is he so stressed out! I think it will go over a million but based on his response, the 1st four weekdays of reporting must have disappointed them. Now, I am thinking, maybe I am wrong predicting a million PPV buys.Oh well, if not..They will have to convince Floyd to take on Canelo.

Yeah having Canelo on the Sergio Mora/Shane Mosley undercard made that PPV very successful (sarcasm). You haters have no patience in waiting for the official numbers,You people just want to make assumptions and pass it off as fact to make yourselves feel better. If the fight does 1.1 million p-pv buys you people will still act like the fight flopped cause it didn`t do as well as Floyd/Cotto even though Cotto is a much bigger draw then Guerrero.

The haters take Fat Dan word as gospel. The same Fat Dan that claimed "his sources" told him that Mosley/Pacquaio did 1.2,1.3 million PPV buys.

I've always doubted these Mayweather numbers. It's the exact opposite with Arum. Schaefer jacks up the numbers while Arum declares low numbers. Maybe to rip off Pac or something.

And what makes u think Showtime won't release false numbers in order to save face after putting all of their eggs in one basket?.. I don't believe this PPV did over a Million buys regardless of what Showtime says.
