Officially released numbers, are public record, thats why. There's a reason you can't view the numbers of pacs last 5 fights, they're not publicly released, just what Arum said and asked HBO not to release them.

Floyd didn't hustled GBP, GBP hustled Showtime. Fight may be a PPV flop but definitely better than just breaking even. A good number is 1.25 M PPV to make everybody happy.

it needed 1.2 million buys to break even. so even if it had a million buys they'd be 200k short which means Showtime would have to make up for the $14 million those 200k buys would have been.

Schaefer can spin it however he wants but the PPV was a financial flop

that money will probably come out of the Showtime boxing budget which is probably around 28-30 million.

they've probably already spent 8-10 million already this year.

Danny Garcia got 1.25 million only for the Judah fight plus consider Canelo fought. when you consider all of the fighters purses and venue fees and operating cost 8-10 million seems about right.

Showtime might only have 6-8 million left for this year and they can't afford another Mayweather PPV that doesn't make money.

if Mayweather doesn't fight Canelo they'll be screwed

Mayweather hustled GBP which is hilarious

All the reports seem to be consistent in one direction, the PPV underperformed.

because people have pretended for years no one buys floyds ppv for floyd and if the numbers on this ppv are big they are all for floyd and people dont like that

Schaefer better be careful on this one. If he comes up with hard-to-believe numbers, people will demand proof.

A better question is why ppl want this ppv to fail. It won't BTW. Floyd getting anywhere near a million us better than what 99% of the boxing world can do. That's not a failure. If showtime loses money, which they won't btw, who cares? They have plenty. Networks regularly waste millions on shows that bomb and get canceled. The fact us network execs are well aware of what they are doing with this. This isn't at all about ppv numbers. Its about branding. Pol on here just ding know how to look outside the box which is why the rich become rich

Difference is HBO does not rely on Boxing alone to stay on top.. Out of 45 Million or so subscribers, boxing makes up about a Million and a half at most subscribers who are hardcore fans and are subbed for that reason alone. And HBO is not the ones who gave Mayweather the lucrative contract.. Showtime did. So I would not put it past them to put out false numbers.

Because Canelo/Trout by a lot of accounts underperformed with the # they reported so they've shown no pattern of over-inflating any #s before. No reason to start

The same place he got the "fight did under 1 million PPV buys" from. Pathetic.
