Cherrypicker shouldn't have made the ginger mad... with the ginger, the ppv numbers would've been better, especially since the Hispanic market under-performed

the "industry insiders" are saying 1.2 million for it to just break even finanically. multiple boxing news sites are saying that. they spent a lot promoting the fight and Mayweather purse was huge considering Guerrero wasn't really known.
Mayweather's huge guarenteed purse really sank the budget for the fight.
you could say GBP hustled Showtime but Showtime is GBP with Steve Espinoza in control.
in reality GBP offered Mayweather a huge deal he couldn't refuse but it was a huge risk. they did it to spite HBO but it looks like it's going to totally backfire.

[QUOTE=DempseyRollin;13348274]A better question is why ppl want this ppv to fail/QUOTE] It's quite simple. A successful PPV against another opponent who was not credible is only going to perpetuate Floyd selecting weak opponents & charging suck as $70. I would love to see him have a successful PPV against a credible opponent. Why pick a tough challenge when peoplr like u r happy to pay $70 to see him fight anyone?

People just want Mayweather to fail in the ring or in business doesn't matter. I don't get how a event that generates 80 - 100 mil can be considered a failure. But 900 - 1.1 IMO is a success this was just a baseline for the next 5 fights. Canelo's probably next in line and that PPV will do ok #'s.

Nobody wants him to fail. Lol. I think this is a VERY GOOD thing for boxing, because he can no longer use "I do these numbers, blah, blah, I'm not taking the fight." At some point he'll have to fight someone noteworthy, that's where the money is.
