Erm duh, everyone knows red shoes give you foot speed, black more power and white gives your ring generalship. That and they keep your feet warm
Why do boxers wear shoes ?

There are several reasons to wear boxing boots except in a sport which uses feet as a means of attack. Our culture is a foot covered culture. Indigenous peoples who habitually go barefooted 365 days a year and do much walking, would have skin up to .5 of an inch on the bottom of their feet. I wouldn't be surprised if long-time MMA guys eventually have to take a size larger, for comfort outside the ring. Also, the boot supports the instep which is usually a weak point in many feet. Also, the high sides and lacing really support the foot and ankle and bind the foot in a compact way which I think is important. Having a booted foot stamped on is far less painful than a bare foot. and various foot collisions go unnoticed.
We had boots with very thin soles which made the feet more aware of the feel of the canvas, and many times as a follow through from a punch a foot will make a controlled slide into position. At the same time, to prevent real, unexpected slippage, we had resin boxes in which we could dab our boots to make the grip firmer without too much pressing. (a little block of resin is a vital accessory to rub on violin bow hair so that the bow can grip the strings).
Using a boot prevents toe stubbing which is something you just really don't want to have when you're in the middle of a battle. Toes are pretty tender.(which reminds me of the way Haye was going around with an exposed set of toes to show everyone that he had a broken toe. I couldn't see anything special except to notice that all his toes were particularly odd looking.Comment

These shoes ain't heavy at all even though your moving and bouncing around your not running sprints ya feel me...and then one thing I hated also is sliding from the sweat and water being spilled in the ring.Comment

But I think wearing shoes helps, like protect the bottom of your feet, Imagine if someone stubbed their toe or something midfight. That would get annoying.
If not wearing shoes made me a tiny bit quicker (not saying science supports that) I could live with a stubbed toe.
