Originally posted by FeFistI hope Mayweather takes the fight, I don't think it would much of an accomplishment if he beat Canelo as I'm not sold on the kid, but at the same time I want to see what reaction the board would have if he simply outclassed Canelo.
That being said..... if you are a fan of Canelo, shouldn't you want him to fight top class fighters in his own division or the one above? Floyd got to where he was by cleaning out his first division, beating the number one guy in the next division, then fighting champions in the the Jr Welterweight, Welterweight and Jr Middleweight division. Hate him or love him, he didn't attempt to make his name by pulling up fighters from the division south of his. Before some ****** says Marquez, Mayweather was established by the time the fight was made.

Being that Canelo is the new jack in this situation, how is his team already making demands. If Floyd says lets do it at 147 and Canelo says no, then who is ducking who? Or if it is at 154, and there's a fight night rehydration clause, will Floyd get props for the win? If Floyd fights him with no stipulations, then will people say Canelo is too green???? Lose-Lose for Floyd until his checks start coming in.

this would probably be the most sensible option. however, in 4-5 fights - which might mean at least 2yrs? - alvarez will have outgrown 154lbs and floyd will never go above that limit.Last edited by tokon; 05-09-2013, 11:31 AM.

Or how about if Canelo wins, will they say Floyd got old overnight, or that Canelo was too big? Guess you didn't consider that scenario for obvious reasons >>>>Originally posted by Thickback View PostBeing that Canelo is the new jack in this situation, how is his team already making demands.
