So the question is.... does Canelo recognize the business opportunity in front of him? Will he concede.... and get the biggest payday of his career (probably his life) with the potential of taking over as the king of the ring for a new era and all the spoils that go with that position (just like Floyd did in 05 against ODL....) or is he too young and immature to see it?

Stop trying to talk sense in this thread. Boxingscene has no place for logic. Anyone with an ounce of knowledge about how Floyd does business is, he worked his ass off to get the ODLH fight and conceded everything in it. He's the A side now, and he remembers what he had to do to get there. Beating nobody + trout is not near as impressive as what Floyd did prior to oscar. Canelo will have to give in to everything of Floyds demands for the chance to be a break-out star....anyone who knows boxing knows this.

If canelo takes 15 maybe 20 cut, and gives into things like ring size, location, and what have you it'll be done. Cotto vs Mayweather, Cotto came into the ring against Floyd at 165 lbs., but Canelo too big?
Floyd is a Jr. Middleweight Champion, and fought a Jr. Middleweight Champion who came in to the ring at 165 lbs (Cotto), so why you don´t he fight another Jr. Middleweight champion?, If someone tells me that Cotto is not a heavy guy your totally giving me the reason that Floyd picked the weakest Jr. Middleweight boxer or at least the less dangerous Jr. Middleweight boxer of the division.
1) If you don´t want any business with the 154 guys, don´t mess with their division.
2) Doesn´t matter if you weight 200 lbs in fight night, if you can do the 154 liimit before fight day , you´re in.
3) Floyd has no match at 140-147, really, he has no match.

It isn't gonna happen man. Once the "official" numbers come out and it shows that Floyd didn't break a million buys, GBP is gonna be all over Haymon and the media talking about how Floyd isn't a draw.

The fight won't get made in September, Floyd will likely fight Alexander, that PPV won't crack a million either meanwhile Canelo fights Cotto and likely breaks a million in his first PPV. Then GBP will approach Floyd again and smear his rep all over the media and when Floyd refuses this time, it's going to be just like the Pac fight that never happened.

The best thing Floyd can do is drop the belt and say "I'm a 147 pound fighter from here on out" and be done with it. Canelo and GBP aren't going to bend to much at all. If Floyd's next PPV is a sub-par producer, Showtime will start trying to force opponents on him.

Canelo is the biggest fight possible for Floyd, sportwise and (especially for someone who calls himself "Money") moneywise. He's P4P no 1 and biggest PPV star. He HAS to fight Canelo. You know it and I know it.

Why does he have to fight Canelo? I'm not getting that. I thought he HAD to fight Pacquiao. What happened to that? For awhile there he HAD to fight Marquez since he beat Pacquiao. The man has 5 fights left, if he doesn't fight Canelo in September what's the big deal? There are others who deserve it as much as or more than Canelo. Popular doesn't mean worthy.

I'm a boxing fan, not a bumsniff like yourself. I couldnt care what they get paid,and as far as I'm concerned, both men run the same risks when they get in the ring. If fights dont get made because one guy wants a ton more than the other guy, then its on them. Sure, Floyd will expect to get more and he will, but if he tries to fleece him its just the latest in his row of ducks.
