    What's next for Julio Diaz?

I noticed he doesn't have a fight lined up. He looked very good in two consecutive 1st round KO's after the loss to Castillo. I thought at 25 he took that fight with Castillo too soon, but that's just the type of guy he is. Prior to the Castillo fight, he'd looked very impressive with wins over Courtney Burton and Javier Jauregui.

Anyone else a fan of this guy?

And if you were in charge of his career, what's the next move?

I think a fight with Jesus Chavez or Nate Campbell (should he get through his fight in a few weeks) would be a step in the right direction.

Good choice, he should fight one of the top fighters, but not Castillo or Corrale yet...

    He's only 25!?

I thought he was at least 32 or something....

He's 26 now, but he had just turned 25 when he had the opportunity to fight Castillo and he jumped at it.

I started to pay attention to Diaz after he beat Burton. He's a good puncher with pop in both hands and he seems to have good skills to boot.

I know he's a bit weak in the chin department but he's exciting for that reason. I guess he has shown a good chin as of late and theres no shame in being TKOed by a guy like JLC, but I seem to remember him being knocked out a few times early in his career. And is it me or did he seem to headhunt a bit against Castillo? I have to find that fight somewhere I have trouble recalling it.

Anyway, I think he could take a step in the right direction by pursuing a fight with Campbell. He has all of the tools necessary to discourage Nate and possibly stop him late with his sharp right hand. Chavez is a different animal. I don't know how he'd respond to Chavez' aggressiveness and ability to maintain his skills late in a fight.

Anyway, he definitely has the ability to be champ again should Castillo and Corrales move up.

Yea he was headhuning in with JLC, but he took a helluva beating before it was stopped and kept coming.

He has some maturing to do, but I think that fight was ultimatly a good thing for him in the end.

He is a very exciting guy to watch though, that's for sure.

Yeah I never really paid attention to his age...I guess he was young but I feel like he was road testedenough for the Castillo fight.

He's just unlucky that he ran into Castillo during that brilliant string of fights Jose gave us leading up to Corrales I. I mean I would have been shook (if I were Diaz) just from watching that brutal fight and beating that Castillo laid on Lazcano (who definitely held his own).

I saw one of those 1st round KO's he just scored. I think it was against the mexican guy...he nailed him with a sick hook/uppercut if i'm remembering right.

when he took that fight i thought he was nuts, however thats the only time i have seen him fight so i dont have a very good idea of his skills. hes a tough SOB though and obviously willing to fight anyone, which puts him a step ahead of just about everyone else in my book.

has he stated anything personally about what he wants to do with his career as far as possibly moving up or any super fights that he really wants to have??? maybe even fight castillo again at some point? i hope he stays busy cause obviouosly hes made a name for himself to the point where a lot of guys arent gonna want to step to him.

Yes he is a very tough fighter for a 26 years old. He should fighting anybody in the lower five of the top 10 rankings just to keep him busy, gain more experience and confidence.

This kid has very very bright future.

i dont like diaz against campbell, a guy who laid a beating on kid diamond. that seems like a bad matchup for julio, but idt campbell has a great chin either.

A lot of people didn't like the Castillo fight for him and advised agaisnt it, but he wanted in there badly.

I don't think the Campbell fight is a bad match up. The jury was and still is out on Diamond to a certian extent. Diaz is a tough guy and a sharp puncher. He's better than Robbie Peden in every conceivable way.

I'll up a GIF of his last fight shortly, because it was an awsome KO.
