Either way, on the night they fought, Cotto wasn't getting denied a W, no matter what weight they fought at, and he pitched a shut-out.

But if Pac is asking for another catchweight, if I'm Cotto, I'm thinking like, this nucca already beat my ass at a CW, just fight me straight up at 154 and get it over with; why play those games. It just boggles my mind from an outsider. Pac can come in at 147 and still theoretically still be too fast for Cotto. I think if they would have just stuck to 154, the fight would have been made. Also, Cotto is thinking...if the best fighter in the world, who generates the most money is paying me the most $ and no weight games, why should I do so for Pacquiao. Doesn't make sense.

Now Team Pac can't get a quality opponent, everyone keeps turning them down. I think Team Koncz and Co have burned enough bridges
I don;t really wanna the convo there, though I'm happy to if you want. My bottom line, 150 is a fair weight for him if he's willing to make half the sacrifice most fighters are expected to make. He may be more comfortable at 154, but he's a less effective fighter there. Hatton I'm sure would prefer to weigh in at 175, but he's only effective bullying guys at 140.

For Pac it's a matter of principle. You fight Cotto at 154, and soon enough you're fighting proper SWWs and getting KOed with a single punch. Well as we saw it doesn't take a SWW, but all the punches he took from bigger guys for sure didn't help with longevity

It easy to say that in hindsight but he was there for a reason, to lose. He never fought anybody and arguably lost to molina, who was coming off a 2 year hiatus and wasnt thought of highly. There's a reason Paul was a 5-1 fav. Please dont try to rewrite history

thats not true, and lara is/was way better than rios is right now.

i'm speaking on styles....who poses a bigger threat? rios to pac or lara to pill. pac should be a 10 to 1 fav with rios.

They offered him 147 and 150, how the **** do you not know this by now?

I kinda afree with you, Lara would have been a tough matchup for PWill at any time, and Pac with no chin questions blows through Rios. But Lara is not really punishing on the guy coming off a KO. He's not a puncher, doesn't pressure or punch much. Rios is a bruiser, and will have 15lbs on Pac. PWill probably had 10lbs on Lara OTOH.

They offer a light middleweight a CW at 147 ok. So yea I remember those CW BS.
But facts are they fought at 145 but don't let that get in your way.

You said they wouldnt fight him at 147. Clearly they would when they sent him offers for both 147, a non CW, and 150, a CW. But you know what's coming if you keep moving the goalposts

Yes it's true, sorry, Lara was there to lose that night. Like i said it's easy to look at things in hindsight but before the fight Lara was not thought of as highly enough at all to beat Williams especially after his poor performance against Molina who wasnt thought of highly at all and was coming off a 2 year break.

Lara was basically a cherry pick gone wrong and again its easy to look at things in hind sight

Lara was a low output fighter and Williams was suppose to outwork him. Both fighters face a style which is considered beneficial to them. And again, looking at things in hindsight is easy
