    nuff said here

Pacquiao trainer Freddie Roach told Yahoo Sports on Monday that "Rios is a good fighter who fights well in the pocket, but he's more hittable (than Alvarado). I want to see Manny with a good performance. I think he can knock this guy out."

Not buying it, sorry!
Derailment is Floyd's middle name when he tries to get a "risky" fight on.

Guerrero was the latest "carefully selected" opponent by Floyd. He even admitted to it. Guerrero was fighting in the lower weight, never fought at 140 and had just 2 fights at WW against 2 guys that have lost their last few fights at WW. So that is deserving to you????

This is where you completely lose me:
Manny got KOed yet he wanted MARQUEZ. If not Marquez then BRADLEY. They, OPTION #1 and OPTION #2 didn't want to fight Manny so then it was Alvarado or Rios.

They are saying that Alvarado is hurt but you are not buying it? I say let's wait to hear more on that .... but honestly, the difference is minimal between the 2 so not sure what the big deal is all about.

why do you keep bringing up floyd? this thread is about alvarado being skipped over for brandon rios. IMO the finger injury excuse is just that, an excuse. read the article i posted last page, especially the freddie roach quote. come on, at least be objective

I just think it's all bogus, and that Rios presents less of a problem for Manny, he's tailor made (this is going to be worse than Margarito, Rios is smaller than Tony)

and this is on PPV, this should be on HBO BoxingAfterDark
Arum will make this PPV as the Chinese economy will give him even more money. You're right though, definitely must hear the Alvarado camp side of the story and preferably from the fighter himself. If it is false, as I said, I dont blame him for DUCKING Alvarado because of Pac's most recent history. That ducking could be caused by monetary issues or what not but as you said (and I believe) Rios' style is better for Pac. But for the last time (ill off soon), I think our differences come from the fact that you think fighting Rios over Mile H is a sin while I think it's not. Just like Khan fights soft handed fighters after his losses, I think a fighter that got knocked out even worse than Khan and who is obvs declining has the right to face a lesser fighter. Crucify him if you think he still p4p and he fights David Diaz again should he win over Rios. For now though the man has earned this fight and should cut him some slack

u just dont get it dont u ??or u just believing urself a smartass?? Most posters dont consider u a smartass and ur not schooling anyone here..pls donrt be delusional! Alvarado was the 1st being approach and somehow negotiatons went through prob coz of his injured hand or something....but i still prefer Rios since hes fan friendly and could ****...remember Rios is more hardhitter here than Alvarado. Theres no such thing Pac chooses him coz hes safe as ****. Business-wise Rios is a draw since were going to see a slugfest! Not that Mayweather or Rigondeaux fights again

so you're saying Rios *IS* a softer opponent than Alvarado? others in this thread said the exact opposite.

if you think pacquiao/rios is going to be a competitive fight then you don't know anything about boxing

when you post "not that mayweather or rigondeaux fights", that just proves it. you dont appreciate the sport, BOXING, not SLUGGING/BAR FIGHTING

Pacquiao will KO rios in 7 rounds

Yer that's actually what I think BUT its irrelevant assuming the reports are true that Mile has a hand/finger injury. Dont compare me to the others defending Pac this is my point of view and I try to be as objective as I can. Having been KTFO Id say Rios or Alvarado is a tough a fight as can be realised. "Manos de Piedra" fought a guy called Manuel Zambrano who was 5-7 after being KTFO by the Hitman. Same story here present time. Just that It's a far bigger ask from Manny.
If the others say Mile High is tougher then all power to them. If Arum is lying and the injury is not legit then I still dont blame Pac for fighting Rios
