Big difference, May wanted DLH's crown and spotlight, May also called out DLH that's why he fought on DLH's terms and conditions. Also Cotto never called out May, May wanted Cotto's title and he chose to fight Cotto because options were limited. Now Canelo has called out may, the P4P, payper view king, and cash cow. When you do that, you fight on that fighter's terms. Example Dawson vs Ward, Hatton vs May, Marquez vs May, Mosley vs May, Hagler vs Hearns. I can keep going, it has always been like this, led by Sugar Ray Leanord, Heck Ali when he was known as Cassius, had to give in the Sonny Liston's terms in the 1st fight, one of those request was a very small ring. Hagler even though he was the middle weight champ, had to give into Ray Leonard's terms, because Ray was the star. The ring was big as heck, the gloves were chosen by ray too. Bhop vs Tito, Bhop was the middle champ, but Tito was the star, Tito once again chose a smaller ring, and also got the bigger purse. DLH vs Pac, DLH called out and went down to 147, something he hasn't done @ that time in over 10yrs. Point is Canelo called out May, so why does May have to give into him, when May has clearly stated recently he's not comfortable @ 154, it's evident in both his fights vs DLH & Cotto.

I agree that Canelo called out May but it that's what will take for Mayweather to fight Canelo I rather them not fight. Thrs nothing like to fighters fighting when they're both in the best shape of their life. Mayweather & Pac don't like to take any risk and that's why they never fought each other and their fights are 70% won in negotiations before they even step inside the ring. It's a good business decision but it's hard to tell how good they really are cus they refuse to fight the best on even terms.

I think both Manny and Floyd has taken risks. They just never fought each other. There were a lot of insiders including Emanuel Steward who thought Timothy Bradley was a huge threat to Manny. Shane Mosley had just destroyed Margarito after Margarito had destroyed Cotto. Floyd fought him next when everyone thought Shane was extremely dangerous. The only guy they both truly ducked was Paul Williams. And that's understandable, because at 147 Paul was a freak of nature. The risks have been taken just not against each other.

The only reason mainstream fans watch Mayweather is because he's undefeated, with his style if he had one loss on his record people wouldn't care to watch him because casuals fans consider his style to be boring. Zero losses don't mean much when you avoid top comp. There's a couple of fighters that could be undefeated if they avoided top comp but it's better to have a loss than to say you never fought the best.

well ya but its imossible for canelo and mayweather to be on even terms no matter what thats what everyone has been saying for awhile now

Canelo beat the guy that beat the guy that Floyd beat to get the belt.

Canelo, who holds the 154 belt, wants to fight Floyd, who holds the other belt at 154.

It's not just who you fight, it's when you fight them & on what terms. Don't get me wrong I like Mayweather I think he's a great fighter & IMO the best defensive fighter ever but he's a great businessman above all
