You have the skills that you have and the canvas you have. It'll always be about Floyd because he hasn't tasted defeat or been humiliated like so many want, he remains defiant to this day. I think when we look back at his career after he's retired we'll see some of this.

It feels like Floyd's being penalized for being too good, and that is a really strange thing from my vantage point.

One reason is that his dumb plan was wait and to counter a counter puncher. It's actually a great plan if you had the speed and power to do it .... it worked for the first few rounds but after that, Guerrero just didn't have the speed to catch Floyd. The other reason is that Floyd did a lot of moving ....

As for sparring, it's just that, sparring .....

Manny did better than Floyd against most opponents they both faced in real fights. Oscar, Cotto, Mosley, Hatton, .... the only one that Floyd did better was Marquez but Marquez had to come up nearly 3 weight divisions to fight Floyd. So doesn't count for much.

Floyd should not have ducked so many fighters .... that is what I saw from my vantage point. I gave him the benefit of the doubt at the beginning but not anymore ..... man, he even admits to it in his interviews

When someone says Floyd "ducked" certain fighters I immediately understand I can't take them seriously, sorry friend. You just don't get it and unlike many here on this site, that in a futile manner, launch into time wasting dialogues I immediately understand that where we are we'll never see eye to eye.

Quite honestly that's what it seems some fans are asking for. Essentially they want a stationary Mayweather to stand in front of his opponents to be susceptible to a high volume of hard punches. If that's the case why put a pair of gloves on him, just hunt him down in the dead of night and string him up some tree. We watch fighters to admire the skill that they combat their opponents with yet there is this blind bloodlust out there for men to beat each other to a bloody pulp, mindlessly and violently.

Sadly, you're argument is a double edged sword.

Manny catchweighted Cotto at 145 after he got dominated and demoralized by a plaster fisted Margarito. , Oscar at 145 after he got beat by Floyd., beat Mosley after Floyd Dominated him and toyed with him. , and Hatton after Floyd took his undefeated confidence and TKO'd him.

Marquez weighed the same for the Floyd fight as he did for Pac/Marquez IV which 143. Floyd came in at 146, which is 2 pounds above what they agreed upon. Pac came in at the 147 limit against Marquez.

There isn't anyone that Manny beat worth mentioning that Floyd didn't first.

Manny didn't have to fight, Corrales, Gatti, Judah, Hernandez, Corley, or Castillo who came in as a Welter against Floyd both times.

Floyd beat Oscar at 154, Cotto at 154, Hatton undefeated, Mosley after he dominated Margarito, Victor Ortiz off fight of the year, and Guerrero who is the 3rd ranked Welter.

No matter the 4 pound weight advantage he toyed with Marquez as well.

Floyd gets penalized for being too good. When he dominates fighters that would give any other fighter a problem, its considered cherry picking.

While Floyd was beating Corrales, Gatti, Hernandez, N'dou, Gatti, Castillo, Manfreddy, and Judah.

Manny was losing to Morales, and fighting Serikzhan Yeshmagambetov, Fahprakorb Rakkiatgym. ( I know right, who's that?)

Manny's mystique really began when he was supposed to be the one to beat Floyd.

That's where it all started. But anyone who knows boxing knows there is no way that Manny would beat Floyd. He can't outbox him. He could potentially win a KO, but I believe Floyd's defense is too good for that. It'd be incredibly one sided to be honest.

If Manny has done better than Floyd against their mutual competition then why has Every fighter who has fought them both has said that Floyd would win.

He doesn't have one punch KO power and that is what keeps him disciplined. and why he never gets too wild and can avoid getting tagged.

What he does better than anyone else is make his opponents gun shy. Not KO power but enough power to make his opponents respect him. Its simple human trial and error. If you do something, and the outcome is severe punishment without any reward, you dont wanna do it anymore.

It happened to Guerrero, and Ortiz, and Oscar, and Marquez, and Mosley, and Judah, and Chico, and everyone else.

Gatti is a prime example. Known for Brawling and having the heart of a lion, was incredibly gunshy when Floyd took it to him. He didn't even wanna swing back after a while.

Manny is a great fighter. One of the greatest of our time. But you can run into another Pacquiao and we almost did in Donaire. THAT FAST.

The answer is simple, he would not. Manny's punch output would lower and if he is smart would try to survive to the end. But since he is not smart, he would get KOed because MP simply makes too many mistakes. It took Marquez 4 fights, it would take FMJ 1 fight. Arum did the right thing. He protected Manny well.
