    Floyd's own words:

"The difference between Miguel Cotto and Robert Guerrero is Miguel Cotto has a lot more experience than he has," said Mayweather, 36. "Miguel Cotto came into the [ring] as a super-middleweight at 168 [pounds]. I came in 147. So I was in with a super-middleweight fighting a welterweight. They're two totally different fighters. Miguel Cotto is a much bigger puncher."

id be surprised if he really weighed that much, i still think it would be dumb for floyd to fight a 170 pound canelo, theres weight classes for a reason

and who said that last line in your sig lol

But it's ok to fight a guy who himself would and will in all likelihood fight Canelo and pretty much is the same frame size as Canelo. This is somethign we will all notice at the weigh in..Cotto and Canelo outside of height have pretty much have the same mass. They do weigh on fight night but in some cases don't make it public i'm pretty sure he wouldn't say 168 if it wasn't that.

What 20lbs to a healthy fighter is not justified , sometimes I wish Floyd just do a Manny and start CWing these big guys , he could win MW titles if he did some special Manny rules deal , its just not in Floyds nature to drain a guy he gives them the size , but thats not unlimited !

What happened? Cotto had more power than Trout but Trout had the reach advantage. Cotto also had stamina issues. So those 2 items neutralized Cotto but its not like Trout overpowered Cotto .... far from it.

Canelo is similar in height to Floyd and I believe Floyd has a longer reach. Canelo has severe stamina issues and lacks the experience of Cotto and Floyd.

Yes, Canelo will outweigh Floyd and have the power advantage but Floyd has advantages in most of the other departments.

Floyd uses advantages that for some reason, his die hard fans can't see.

Example: Fight Marquez who went up from 130 to 135 and had to fight Floyd at WW

Aside from fighting Oscar at 154 in 2007 (which was a great business decision on his part), I've always believed that Money fighting Cotto at the 154 lbs limit was a mistake due to the size differential of both fighters. As Miguel was the natural larger boxer.

In addition, he didn't have to challenge Cotto at Jr. Middleweight. He could've easily requested for him to move down to 147 or fight him at a catchweight as Manny Pacquiao did; Because let's face the facts. Money's punches just doesn't carry the same amount of snap or pop on them against the heavier fighters at the higher weight classes.

Miguel was a lot heavier and stronger than Floyd in that bout and perhaps it was the major reason, why Floyd didn't put him away and Cotto lasting the distance, after several hard clean punches were landed on him almost at will. Moreover, Cotto probably outweighed Money by some 20 lbs or more in that ring. One can easily tell that the extra weight Miguel carrying was wearing on Floyd each time Cotto attempted to make it a very physical fight.

Likewise, he shouldn't be fighting Canelo; Let alone at 154 lbs, where Alvarez would hold all of the physical advantages just as Miguel Cotto did in their previous bout. On fight night, Mayweather a welterweight; Would be challenging a light heavyweight in Canelo.

Furthermore, he doesn't need to fight Ginger on those terms to earn a huge payday. He is welterweight and If I was managing Floyd, I would request that either Canelo move down and fight Floyd at 147 or agree to a catchweight at 150 lbs or there would be no fight.

Cotto was the 154 lb champion when he fought Floyd..look at cotto's divisional fights leading up to manny..you talking about Catchweights..i'm a Cotto fan and am tired of that excuse. The only person claiming it was a catchweight was Cotto..his trainer didn't think so. Matter of fact i'll say Cotto is faster and more trouble at 147 than at 154 because his current weight makes him too slow. The only reason he moved up was because he got lazy, wanted to bulk up, and rely on his punching power vs slower opponents at 154 problem is they aren't all slow as he learned with Trout. If canelo aged ten years and his punches were easily telegraphed there'd be no problem fighting him in your eyes i'm sure. Funny tho Cotto has the balls to fight Canelo but Floyd doesn't..can't excuse that especially when you are walking around ranked #1 at 154 but won't fight in the division or defend the belt in the division.

All it takes is one punch, Canelo is better than a lot of people here think he is,just ask Floyd......

Imagine if he was darker? He'd be having skills like Ali and head movement like Whitaker.
