Those guys you mentioned although may weight in the 150's are not as strong as a real 154 pound fighter. They are just putting back water weight to their bodies no mass.

If Floyd does.....cherry pick!!!
Guerrero is someone Pac would fight 2 times in a year with no 2 layoffs. Pac would probably fight Guerrero take 4 months of and then fight JMM and give Guerrero a rematch after beating JMM four months earlier.
Floyd has to deliver more cos he fights less, and tries to make the announcement of his opponent a bigger deal than it actually is. If you want it to be a big deal fight a big deal opponent and not someone anyone else would fight, and stop trying to make out you are going to deliver something special when you arent.!!!
Fight Canelo....SSM did without singing and dancing and boasting about it.Last edited by hugh grant; 04-30-2013, 04:40 AM.

The people probably think it's a cherry pick because it's not his 154 WBC mandatory, who is just as worthy and brings in more money.
I'm pretty sure Canelo is next for Floyd, if all goes well.
Not only is he the mandatory, he's a live dog coming off a big win, and not a journeyman on a long losing streak.

Floyd thinks it is a cherry-pick because Guerrero is coming up from lightweight and only recently fought at welterweight. But Guerrero is a good fighter and the more I have looked at him, the more I think he has a shot. I watched his fight against Michael Katsidis and then contrasted that by watching a replay of Mayweather-DelaHoya.
Guerrero fought with tremendous intensity in that fight a landed an amazing number of big flush punches on Katsidis, who showed tremendous heart to make to the final bell.
Mayweather - DLH on the other, replayed my emotions when I saw it live on PPV. It didn't live up to the hype. Mayweather made a phony threat that he "would **** DLH up", which Broner now mimics. He fought very defensively and landed few telling blows. It was not an intense fight. He completely failed to deliver on the phony threat. Both came out unmarked.
Mayweather doesn't want hard fights. He won't fight Canelo because he thinks it will be a hard fight and his fanboys will award him a decisive beatdown in fantasy fight land.
I think Guerrero may be a hard fight. But there aren't many options for Floyd since he ducked Pacman. He thinks Guerrero is small and lacking in footwork, but Guerrero is filling out well and his boxing skills are above average. I am convinced he will fight like the fate of the Earth depends on him winning.
I won't buy the fight because I will never support Floyd financially anymore, but an older Floyd may have his work cut out.

Before he fought Trout, only Canelo's most ardent fans believed he could beat Floyd. Most boxing fans and analysts weren't prepared to say or write that Canelo would be Floyd's biggest test. He hadn't really proven himself against the best of the division.
ONLY the Floyd haters and Canelo fans believe he should fight Canelo right away because Canelo seems to pose a bigger challenge than everyone else out there. Nothing wrong with that ...
However, unlike regular fans with very little if any business acumen, the promoters would allow a fighter like Canelo to build his star quality and drawing power predicated on solid wins, and when it reaches its peak and the fans are clamouring for it, will they then unleash their marketing power to promote Mayweather vs Canelo.
A fight which can no doubt be made with Arum out of the picture.
