we don't need his next fight.

the signs are all there. we can go through his last few fights and see a steady decline, just like pacquiao.

sergio can get seriously hurt if he keeps fighting. that guy used to be lightning fast, and now he's not. that's the first sign, and the only sign i need to see, to know that he's spent. his brain isn't working as fast as it used to. it's not just his body. he's not going to simply get his speed back, even if his injuries can heal. if he has success at this stage it would have to be with craft and boxing skills that he doesn't have.

he's done. martinez is done. he could have very well lost to martin murray last night. he was dropped twice. he's been dropped in his last three fights, and only chavez jr is a big puncher of those three opponents.

if he keeps fighting he'll get knocked out.

Sergio needs to fight his best fights at 160...or yes....retire. All I see for him are Geale, Golovkin, and Quillin. It'd be a great stretch to go out on.

And to clarify this....I don't even think Manny or Floyd are "shot". I think Marquez, even though he landed the two punches that caught Manny, is faded more than them or Sergio. And Hopkins is completely shot in my book, it's just that even a shot Hopkins can beat guys like Cloud, Murat, Cleverly, etc. He wouldn't beat guys like Dawson and Ward.

martinez got that hob tub time machine?

i think you need to get your head out of the clouds, man. did you even see last night's fight? the guy is 38, and broke his hand. he also may have hurt his knee. his next fight will be in 2014. he's an aging fighter with a purely athletic style. he is not bernard hopkins.

golovkin would have knocked martinez out last night. so would quillin. he was dropped twice and looked like garbage against martin flippin murray.

        Hopefully. And yeah lol

dude's done... bring in martinez-chavez jr 2... and yes, it ain't laughable now...
When you rely on movement it contributes against you a bit more lol

i thought martin murray should have won...sergio is done...he should take a year off to recover his knee or whatever and if golovkin is still undefeated then he should pass the torch to him.

N.E., it'll be best for Martinez if he retires. But, I do want this lineage to be resolved and the only way that can happen is if he takes a break and heals up physically. All I want is one more fight to pass the torch.

the lineage can move on without sergio martinez getting knocked out. do you really want to see hiim fight golovkin or quillin? he'll get hurt. i don't need to see that.

it will be sad to see hopkins lineage broken, but at it's expense we'd prevent sergio from getting beat up and stopped.

if the martinez that fought murray last night fought gennady golovkin he would have been badly hurt.

Maybe the break will help, maybe it won't. He'll probably fight again, and is in danger of losing to the top fighters.

I think GBP should try to capitalize and make Canelo/Martinez.
