Why are people calling Broner-Malignaggi a cherry pick?

It was clear from jump that Schafer intended to make mathysse and Peterson fight once both me won their last fights. Broner, meanwhile was trying to secure a Burns fight after his Rees win. It didn't happen. Could he have fought Khan? Yes. Would team Khan have taken that fight? No. Is that Broner fault? No.

So he shouldn't participate in the tournament at all? Just wait until its over and do what?

Go back and read. Before he signed to fight Reese, there were top 135 pounders and 140 pounders he could have fought but he chose a guy NO ONE has seen on National TV. Pull your head out of your a$$ and you will see I am not the only one complaining. Even his fans have called the fight crap.

3 divisions - many top fighters in each one, he choses the weakest titlist of all and even the weakest contender in Pauli. And that is after fighting possibly the only guy in THREE divisions who has not even been seen on a major Boxing network in Gavin Reese. I can name a bunch of fighters in 3 divisions who the Boxing public has seen many times and he digs up an unknown guy no one in the general Boxing public even heard of in Gavin Reese. Its a 4 man tourney consisting of the top 140lbers in the world, all of which have been there for years. Where does Broner break in that? Would it have been nice for him to be in it? Of course, but if its not a realistic possibility that isn't his fault. I mean he's one fighter on gbp. Gbp didn't figure him into the tourney. The fighters that are in the tourney belong there. So who do u get rid of to add Broner? Where does he fit in?

Ur blaming him for not fighting khan but look who khan is fighting. He's rebuilding. U think Broner wouldn't jump at the chance to fight him? Match up Khan and Broner later this year and the winner of that gets Garcia/Matthysse/Peterson.

Unless his team doesn't feel he's ready yet for that level of competition at this point in his career he should be in the mix.
