Because they really do feel Broner is that good. Sure they talk a lot of s**t about him, but when it comes down to it, they expect him to beat a lot of guys. Hell, Mayweather has made friends with him just so he doesn't have to fight the guy. Broner has a very good shot at being the next P4P king.

So being capable of beating paulie malignaggi makes you "the man" now?

No, but it might be the weirdest thing to say, but.. Paulie could be said to be Broner's toughest test to date, am I not right in some way?

              thats 100% irrelevant.

they all make the weight so they are all lightweights, one of which is jumping up two weightclasses to fight at welterweight. broner is big for the division, but you cant hold his talent against him like that. because to be able to make a lower weight like that is talent, just like having fast hands or power, which he of course also has.

so sure its easier for him to move up in weight just like its easier for him to win fights. he is a special fighter in many ways. all you can do is give him credit for being talented.

well ppl should understand thats his choice to make.

you have to fight the best in your division and if you dont you deserve criticism. but you can pick whatever division you want. theres no such thing as ducking a weightclass, you have every right to pick whatever weight you want and nobody can say **** about it.

duran leapfrogged 140 to fight at 147, sure the circumstances might be different but thats irrelevant. he wanted to fight at 147 instead of 140, thats his chocie to make and a move that cant be critisized regardless of who is at either weight.

as for fighting paulie, thats a good first fight in a new division, very good in fact. if hes fighting paulie caliber opponents 2-3 fights from now he dervses criticism, but noy now.

I'm yet to review this fight properly in my head.

                Broner could easily lose this.

But i do get from the outset it looks like a cherry pick because paulie looks like the weakest option.

They would have all been strong choices tbh.

I'm leaning to paulie decision atm. Will have a verdict soon.

Because it is. Simple as that.

He doesn't need to go to 147.

He's (paulie) the least threat at 147.

Gets him a title against the least threat.

He's not going to stay at 147.

Paulie is well past his best and he wasn't good to start with.

It's a cherry pick of huge proportions, but at the same time, its not a bad fight for a young champion

It's because Paulie looked horrid in his last fight and this is the perfect opportunity to fight a name, right as he's declining. Much in the same way no one wants to fight a rising talent with no name, everyone wants to prey on yesterday's stars as they fade.
