C'mon get real. Broner took the easy route. Even though Paulie still has the boxing skills, he has no power and his legs aren't all there anymore. Fighting an easier fight two divisions up than fighting real threats one division up is a cherry pick.
Why are people calling Broner-Malignaggi a cherry pick?

I think that Malignaggi is = Abril, Burns and Vazquez. Neither of these guys are heavy hitters, neither of them were going to hurt Broner, and Malignaggi has the same exact chance to beat Broner, which is outboxing him. Abril, Burns and Vazquez just had one way to win and that was outboxing Broner. I'm not going to lie Broner vs Abril could have a good fight. Now Abril has 135 opened for himself, he should dominate it this year and then move up to 140 next year, he's a pretty good boxer and difficult to look good against.Comment

After the Rees figh people were talking about how much he got hit by a little guy and how he's not as good as advertised. Now moving up 2 weight classes to fight an experienced champ top 10 at 147 and it's a cherry pick. Why is he held to such high standard already with only 24 or so fights. Enlighten meComment

Malinaggi looked terrible against Cano (lost IMO), is the weakest champ in the division, and is clearly on his way out. Everybody and his grandma wants to fight him.
I think Broner has this in the bag and that's not saying much.
BTW, I didn't say this was a cherrypick.Comment
