40,000 people in attendance doesn't mean canelo has the power.

Plus there are so many mexicans in san antonio and the surrounding area.

It would be the equivalent of Pacquiao fighting in the Philippines. He could sell out a 100k stadium if he fought close to his fanbase like canelo does.

****ing ridiculous. I can't believe you people are actually threatened by a new boxing star. Boxing fans should be happy about this.

IMO I can see TV ratings on Showtime being around 2 million based on trends. It's two days ater the fight and Canelo vs Trout is still on google's top ten.

          Was it really?

Cotto's live gate with trout was 1.618 mil, just over half of this fight. It would also make the average ticket price close to $80. Very impressive stuff which is very rarely seen for anyone, let alone a 22 year old

Why are ya'll so hurt? Pac is my favorite and i will admit that Canelo already has more star power than Pac. I'm not saying he's already more famous than Pac but he sure will be in the future. I give respect to this kid and I can assure you floyd vs trout in the alamodome would have never had 40,000 in attendance.

U honestly think floyd could sell 40 thousand??? His fight with Mosley wasent even a sell out and would love to see how many seats he sold against cotto. He MGM only holds about 18 thousand.. Regardless good for the sport that ginger can bring out the fans and bring out the big events like he did sat

Yes the majority were that cheap hell even the most expensive ones were only no more then 300 as to we're in Vegas the cheapest ones for a fight like this wouldn't be no cheaper then 350

I just rematches fight n think trout won by one point meaning it could have gone either way but judges score cards were ridiculous

Maybe the OP is just mad because he could only afford the nosebleads. I had some decent seats and had a good view of the action. Looking up I can see where you would be butthurt, there was no good viewing angle in the upper deck and it was hard to see the jumbotron screens.
Canelo would sell out in Vegas as well, Mexicans support boxing more than anyone else. They would show up.
Yea the lakers were there.....probably cuz they were gona play the spurs the next day n were in town already be for real u think Dwight Howard flew in to see this stop the madness.

Exactly Mexico is a couple hours down the road this is just as close as him fighting in Mexico...

Nobody's threatened by anybody I'm just saying if canelo wana demand stuff n tell Floyd what to do it ain't happening Floyd is still da ppv king n the main cash flow getter in the sport.

                    WHAT?

So GBP offering fans cheaper tickets for a huge fight is a BAD THING? I wish Boxing would do it more OFTEN!

Morales pressed that action when he was up on the cards against Pac and even switched to south just to clown Pac who was still dangerous. This was Canelo's moment to shine and what does he do, he plays it safe against a guy that couldn't hurt him. Open scoring does suck cause it tames brawlers and takes the game out of technictions.
Can't blame Canelo for fighting smart. I didnt think he was ahead that much but judges did so he fought accordingly even though he looked lazy to me. Its no different than running the ball or taking secs off the shot clock in hoops.
