He hasn't done much but it's not like he's been around for a bunch of years. Plus look at who Floyd is fighting in your Avi. Canelo is better then Ortiz

I don't feel either Trout or Canelo impressed me last night. I turned the TV off last night feeling let down.
Sorry to hear that I guess? I enjoyed it... Canelo showed poise and power and Trout showed heart.

Agree. It was a good win.

Floyd looked better in May 2012 than Canelo did last night. When Floyd lays on the ropes, he throws punches. Floyd doesn't take off 2:30 a round. I left the fight feeling let down by both guys.

Canelo's game changing power impressed me in the 7th, and Trout heart to fight back and win the rest of the round in the 7th impressed me. That's about it.

Than May 2014 or September 2014, let's go with Floyd-Canelo. I'll be more convinced if Canelo can beat another top fighter at 154. He didn't impress last night, and neither did Trout.
Canelo vs. the winner of Lara/Angulo in September, and then Smith/Molina at the end of the year or sometime next year. If Smith wins, maybe Mayweather can do a solid for Ishe and make it the co-main event on one of his PPVs. He would probably have to give Canelo the guarantee he desperately wants though.

I just hope Cotto isn't used as a stepping stone, but he was in the crowd last night, and I don't see him turning the opportunity away. Cotto could probably be Canelo's first PPV opponent.

I don't think Floyd is going to fight Canelo right away.

              I could see this happening....

              Smith-Molina in July
              Alvarez-Angulo/Lara in September
              Cotto- Smith/Molina in November/December

Alvarez (if he actually beats the Lara/Angulo winner) vs Cotto (if he beats the Smith/Molina winner) in April or May 2014.

That doesnt mean anything, Id like to think Floyd is supposed to look better than Canelo at this point.

I am kind of surprised theyre talking about Floyd/Canelo for September and not a May date though.

Okay.........??? I said Canelo didn't look good against Trout, you said Floyd didn't against Cotto. I said Floyd looked better against Cotto than Canelo did against Trout. I gave reasons. That's all.

Good way to fit Cotto into the equation. I've been wanting to see Cotto/Molina for a while now.
