Trouts jab was not landing, not to mention it was the only punch he was throwing all night. Canelo was laughing and having his way with him for 12 rounds. He was having fun in there while Trout was looking silly & out classed. Every time Trout tried to be cokky Canelo would tag him up, he wasn't on Saul's level that night. Canelo has a very high ring I.Q. for a 22 year old, underrated speed, and an unrated defense that Austin couldn't quite figure out. Floyd would never fight at 154 again. Saul is to big, smart, and explosive. Floyd would be better off fighting Pacquiao to be honest, his fans knows this also.First, the open scoring system is worthless.
Anywho, the scorecards were an absolute disgrace. I can see either boxer taking it but not by that wide of a margin. I thought Trout won the early rounds with his jab alone. But once Canelo started winging bombs, he had Trout thinking twice about everything. Anywho, I won't scream robbery.
As far as Canelo fighting Mayweather....Canelo is actually shorter than Floyd so the size differece isn't that big. Speed, skill, stamina, ring IQ and defense are all advantages for Floyd. Canelo's advantages are youth and punching power. It would be a great fight but the youngin would be schooled badly imo.Comment

don't need to. you have to fight every style different. canelo is taylor maid for mayweather. if he tries to throw those ,slow, long range overhand rights like he did last night.mayweather counters and puts him to sleep.Comment

Anyone saying Trout won just doesn't like Canelo and/or is jealous of his success. I wasn't ringside, but I did not see Trout landing many of those jabs. If anything, Canelo outlanded him in that dept. In general, Trout had alot harder time hitting Canelo than Canelo had hitting Trout. Yes, Trout was busier, but ineffective IMO. Close fight, and yes the one judge was sleeping with that wide score, but Canelo had a brilliant defense and did win by 1-2 points. They need to figure out his stamina issues, and get him more active down the stretch, but at 22 he is certainly more promising than alot of people give him credit for.Comment

like he put De La Hoya, and Cotto to sleep huh? sounds easier said than done. Floyd looked out of the ordinary in his only middleweight fights. the 1st one; his face got knuckled up. the second he got tagged & blooded by a slow out of prime Cotto. a fight with a 22 year old kid that has just as many fights as he does at 36 would be the final page in his career. unfortunately.Comment
