I have said from jump the scorecards were ridiculous but there were rounds were trout landed 9 total punches..9!!

This. Trout only outlanded Canelo by a small amount of punches. Canelo slipped the majority of what was thrown (surprised the hell out of me, was looking like a slick fighter) and he landed most of his counter punches when he started boxing or going back. He showed a surprisingly versatile toolset tonight. Trout is an elite fighter at 154 and Canelo was slipping him like he Whitaker and even threw his hands completely down at times, slipping 3-4 punches at a time. Thoroughly impressed. Has a fast and heavy lead right.

Lol@the guy talking about GGG fighting Canelo at 154. You said Canelo should fight a guy with power? And that he has no headmovement? You JUST described GGG at 160!!! Lol. Love GGG btw but Canelo has proven himself tonight.

Love how people act like Canelo wasnt landing a consistent right to the body.

Trout while seemingly being more active was quite frankly not consistently effective. Like they say..who would you have rather been at the end of the round? Trout took more damage.

One thing though that seems to be worrying is Canelo's gas tank. He's 22 and seemingly gasses mid fights...what's up with that? It could also just be his skin tone and patience that make it seem that way but it seems odd to me

I agree it was a close fight and Canelo gave some rounds away but I had him winning by a couple points. Before even tapping into compubox mind you!

I am starting to think Canelo needs to beat Jesus or the Dalilama to get any credit around here.

Amen to that. But some people just can't put their biases aside. Like I always say, I have favorite fighters, but I'm not biased. I'm a boxing fan before I'm a (insert fave boxer here) fan. Most people are vice versa.

Canelo was going to win this fight short of a knockout by Trout. Canelo landed the harder punches and that is what crowds pay to see. Trout was the aggressor for much of the light and landed more punches overall. The problem for him is most of those had no real power behind them. If Trout wants to be a star he needs to develop more power. His style doesnt sell well. Ask Tim Bradley. One thing of note is both were good sports and showed respect for each other a couple of times during the course of the bout. And what a concession speech by Trout. He was disheartened after hearing the second open scoring scores and really took it like a man. I hope he is able to get more high end opponents and has a prosperous career.

This fight reminded me of Martinez-Williams 1 in which Williams threw more but Martinez landed the cleaner shots.

even though i was rooting for trout, i don't have a serious problem with the outcome. trout didn't cleanly land as much as he should have for me to say they clearly robbed him. i thought trout won a close deicison. neither of them looked impressive though. i might be in the minority, but the fight wasn't as good as i thought it was going to be. it is what it is. i think alvarez/cotto happens next. not sure where trout goes from here.

People refuse to give the kid any credit..I heard all sorts of KO's coming out of this fight from Trouts fans on here..those people aren't here right now. He's a funny old man.

Bias? Yet I see Mayweather fans stand behind Compubox constantly..You do know compubox is an independent company right? To each their own but like I told the other guy feel free to go count for yourself.
I'm not a Mayweather fan little buddy and compubox is incredibally biased towards superstars like him. I'm not going to count all the punches on Canelo vs Trout but here is a little video demonstrating how inaccurate compubox can be when superstars are at action. Floyd Mayweather vs Victor Ortiz
