Glad Canelo finally fought a legitimate 154 threat. He finally gets a little respect in my book. That being said, I feel Trout didn't show up tonight. He fought overly cautious and barely let his hands go.

Only when he was at the ropes slipping punches, could you make that case. But even then it looked like it was by choice as Canelo seemed to try to lure him into one big counter punch. Canelo won this by Ring Generalship.

The only way to offset that would be if Trout was outlanding him by double margins, because nothing he threw all night looked effective. He didn't outbox Canelo and he didn't hurt him at any point.
He did that because he was tired................... You think he would be on the ropes throwing nothing back if he was still fresh? Being pushed on the back foot and just covering up gets points for ring generalship now? Clottey controlled the entire Pac fight if that is the case.

They will have Marquez move all the way up to 154 to get fed to Canelo. It will make a fortune in Mexico.

Alvarez is a joke, 80% of the right hands he landed were on Trouts chest and if you don't believe me re-watch the fight. The main punch he landed was the uppercut. If he really did land those shots Trout's face would've been busted up and we don't even go to the scorecards, think about it for a second.

from what i saw, canelo has some pretty damn good defense. made trout miss often. but his stamina is horrible, its whats setting him back from being great. he threw only 2 punches at a time instead of his usual combos.

Trout didn't land hard enough shots end of story... This is how Canelo fights he fights in bursts he's a counter puncher by nature. Just because he was backing up didn't mean Trout was winning rounds. Pitter pat and jabs don't win fights. Canelo made his punches count. the right guy won a close desicion. With the exception of the 118-109 the cards made sence. I hate the over hyping too but you gotta give credit where its due. People calling this a robbery are straight haters.

Some of you are showing your boxing ignorance saying Canelo isn't ready for Floyd.
Trout had the reach advantage and was able to keep Canelo at bay.
Floyd would have none of those advantages. Canelo would have zero respect for Floyd's power and would walk him down.
Right now Canelo KO's Floyd in 8.
