Yeah...4 big things here...in order of significance, imo:

    1. The move to Showtime is most definitely going to hurt the ppv numbers due to less subscribers and weaker production, and history says this. See Pac..

    2. Mayweather refusing to do a press tour and no real kickoff, faceoff, or buzz.

    3. And Pac getting KO'd by Marquez and thus ending any chance at a Mayweather fight, and even if they do, people don't care as much. This hurts both May and Pac, and really PPV boxing in general. Mayweather, Haymon, and Ellerbe could not have timed out this new big guarantee any better than they did.

    4. Guerrero just not that great of a PPV attraction. If not for his Dad, I don't think anybody would care one bit about seeing Guerrero, other than the harcore fans. That said, I think it's an intriguing fight.

Prediction for PPV = 1,050,000 - something similar to Mayweather vs. Marquez

Then where will Showtime go from there? Will Schaeffer be begging HBO then?

As much as I don't like the overt agenda's of some HBO commentators Showtime's All Access production sucks compared to HBO's 24 7. These low views could just be a reflection of poor production.

Pacquiao vs Mosley was very poorly organized. It was obvious that that was the first time Showtime covered a huge event. The sequences were not properly timed from introducing the fighters to making their way to the ring. There were long awkward pauses. Made me realize why HBO is on top.
