If Manny comes back just the same, would he be an exception to the KO rule, or have there been others?

Mike Alvarado has 4 career fights against fighters other than cans.

He was losing on all three judges scorecards before stopping Breidis Prescott in the last round.
He went life and death with Mauricio Herrera.
He was stopped by Brandon Rios.
He won a tough fight vs. Rios in their rematch.

Four exciting fights by an average fighter.
Pacquiao picking on another junior welterweight. Let me guess, this one will be at welterweight too.

I'm conflicted by this. I like the fact that Alvarado is getting such a big opportunity and a nice pay-day, but I think he's gonna catch one mean beating.

can't think of any off the top of my head...hard to see someone coming back the same after getting ko'ed like manny did...

Well there are no other options. The choices are either Alvarado,Rios, or provondokov and out of those 3 alvarado is the correct choice he's coming off a win.

Yeah, that's why I wouldn't be shocked at all if another Roy Jones scenario played out. I'm confident for Manny, but I'm also scared to death.

No it's not, and it's not tough.

Prescott was beating Alvarado before the TKO. An average brawler like Rios knocked him out.

It's a good come back fight to get back in the mix, but I don't think it will be competitive.
