why does this matter? alvarado rehydrated almost 20 pounds over the 140lb limit against rios...so alvarado would be more comfortable fighting at ww anyways...and pac weighs 150lbs on fight night now. so there is ABSOLUTELY no advantage in terms of weight, height, or reach for pacquiao..NONE

and lets look at who is the top guys at ww....floyd fight is obviously not happening, marquez won't rematch pac, guerrero is with GBP, kell brook is less proven than alvarado, malignaggi is with GBP, tim bradley won't rematch pacquiao, victor ortiz hasn't looked good in awhile... and i think he might be training with freddie now?, alexander is with GBP, and thurman is unproven...

so where are all these available welterweights???

a top tier ww should be fightng ww's. they may not be names you know, but there are ww's ranked 11-20 that could easily fight manny at ww.

you have no idea what weight avarado will be confortable. pure speculation. you have no idea what alvarado will do at ww.

Kell brook is a ww so he isnt less proven than alvarado. Thurman is unproven but he's a ww.

Mike has earned the payday and I conced there are no ppv worthy names for manny to fight.

i did not **** on floyd's hatton win.....i do remember saying that it was a good win, but pac's win over hatton i feel was more meaningful since pac beat him at his best weight class and where he was considered the lineal champ. how is that ****ting? that's the truth....

why would it matter if 140 is his best weight if weight doesn't matter? Respectfully, its like you are saying weight matters to a ceratin degree. wouldn't that apply to manny/alvarado?

No. rehydration doesn't mean that. If a guy can get down to a certain weight comfortably he is in that class. You still dont know what will happen when a ww hits him.

Mike earned the payday. Manny needs a viable ppv opponent and someone he can regain form against. HBO needs someone they feel comfortable with.

its so funny to me how everyone at 140 & ww can fight eachother and everyone loves these fights but if Floyd fights them then it sucks and he's cherry picking. He would get destroyed for fighting Alvarado. Im not even made at this fight but the hypocrisy is crazy

well it matters when the guy is the lineal champ of that weight class (hence more meaningful of a fight).. if floyd fought him at 140 he would have potentially collected his 4 lineal title in a 4th weight class. it's still a good win for floyd beating him at 147 but not as meaningful as pac's win which earned him the 4th lineal title in a 4th weight class....alvarado is neither a world champ or considered the top of the division (top 3 or even 5)..so it doesn't matter much if pac fought him at 140 or 147... but 147 would be more better for him since he wouldn't have to drain down as much.

I think you misstyped. Floyd couldn't have moved down to fight hatton at 140. You would be suggesting manny should fight alvarado at 140 not at 147. I dont know if manny can even make 140.

I get that manny isn't a big ww like Hearns or Pwill. I just hope this isn't the pattern from here on out.
