You don't think so? I mean, would you say its a good win if he wins? Even after being KOed he is fighting a hard hitting prime guy who just beat another undefeated prime fighter.

mike is moving up to ww. he's never fought at ww before. it will be the 3rd or 4th straight fight for manny at ww against a someone with 1 or fewer wins at ww. does that factor into your assessment of the fight at all?
how does it qualify as a good win when there are ww available to fight?
Dude, you support Floyd at all costs, I have no interest in debating with you. At least IronDan is a reasonable Floyd fan. You're acting like Alvarado is some 5'5" 135 pound dude who's jumping weight. He's a pretty big JWW who beat a guy who was struggling to make 140. Oh and FYI Alvarado weighs the same if not more than Pac on fight night. Only you would try and discredit this fight.

I didnt mention floyd in the post and this isnt a floyd thread. I asked you a simple question about your opinion based on what you wrote. In no way is it trying to discredit the fight.
My post in no way is acting like Mike is anything other than a JWW moving up. All I asked was how does it factor into your assessment of the fight. You can't even defend your position because its so weak.
its so funny to me how everyone at 140 & ww can fight eachother and everyone loves these fights but if Floyd fights them then it sucks and he's cherry picking. He would get destroyed for fighting Alvarado. Im not even made at this fight but the hypocrisy is crazy
SMDH @ boxing fans like you. Can you for once enjoy a good fight, without complaining about something?
My goodness.
I think that was actually part of his point. Floyd can't take any normal fights, even if they would be good fights, because everyone and their dog would go ape****, unless the guy was all but undefeated, bigger than him, coming off big wins, etc etc. just a normal face first slugger coming off a KO loss and then win at this point in Floyds career would get him lambasted badly.
But Pac can and its 'what a great fight! War! Yeah! Go Pacman!'.

I know your agenda and I see right thru you bruh. Funny thing is, I didn't even ask you and you jumped right on it.

Anyway, all that stuff is beside the point. This is a good fight. Should be fun and its a great fight to Pac back on his feet and looking good against a dude made for him.
Get the public confident in him again and give his fans something to cheer about as well as give Pac someone to beat on for a whole fight.
Should be fun. Alvarado will put up a good fight for a bit but ultimately be outclassed.

as far as comeback fights go, it's a decent one... but beating Alvarado doesn't enhance his legacy... all it might prove is that Pac's punch resistance isn't totally spent
Yea I didn't think it would do anything for his legacy that's why I switched and asked if he would consider it a good win or not.
Lets get this straight......Pacquiao beating Alvarado isn't a good win, neither would a Rios win have been either. For a 140 fighter fighting a 147 fighter, to be considered a good win, it generally has to be the top 1-2 140 fighter. Not someone who's probably not even in the Top 5 at the weight.
For instance.....Bradley was a good fight for Pacquiao, Hatton was good for Mayweather.
Given Pacquiao was just KO'd, Alvarado isn't a bad fight, but it won't be counted as a good win to contribute anything to Manny's resume. It's a good comeback fight for him though.
Aside from Bradley in June 2012, Manny hasn't gotten a good win since Clottey and Cotto.

Resume wise, these do nothing for him.
This is a fight to ease him back in while not being a complete sht opponent.
A fight to wet both Arum's and Pac's beak

you cant defend your position so you claim I have an agenda. right. You still cant answer because you didnt even stop to consider that this is a top tier ww fighting his 4th consecutive nonww moving up. Those opponents have a combined 1 win at ww-that being tim over Casamayor.
Chito care to suggest who's WW you have in mind?
Top tier ww's- no one but bradley
2nd tier-jackiweitz(spelling might be wrong) abregu,
3rd/4th tier shawn porter
I'll concede there are no ppv worthy names out there other than Bradley. But there are no TR ww's to fight.
