I had a lot of respect for Donaire for taking the fight and he came over in the build up as a good guy but these excuses are going to do a lot of damage to his reputation. This is the kind of spin you expect out of Amir Khan when he has a "little set back" Khan talk for a loss but not somebody like Donaire.
Going into this fight I predicted a Rigo victory and that is because I saw how good he was.Donaire got beaten by a phenom, there is no disgrace in that.Comment

Cry me a fcukin' river.......
Donaire got his arse beat decisively EVEN with the knockdown, which was BS. How long has his shoulder been jacked up? And NOW he brings it up when he's schooled. I guess his shoulder also had something to do with that tire around his waist too, TFOH. So, if he feels that he should have gotten the decision, then don't move up - take care of that unfinished business! Not only is Rigo Donaire's daddy, he's probably his wife's baby daddy because with the amount of whining he's doing, he possibly can't have any balls, much less a d*#! to get anyone pregnant. And for those butt-torn "fans" who can't recognize & respect an a$$beating when they see one even if they were the ones on the receiving end, F.A.Y.B.A.N.!Comment

Honestly, how do some people have the audacity to post on a boxing website when they haven't got a clue as to how boxing works. They're following a sport, yet don't know the rules. Imagine not knowing what a field goal in American football is worth and calling yourself a fan of the NY Giants! It's mind-boggling. Everyone has an opinion, and we often differ, but people need to learn how this sport works before they start making ridiculous statements that make it abundantly clear they don't know what they're talking about. He doesnt have to concede that much. I would be happy with "Yeah he got me tonight, need to make some a adjustments so next time I will tax that ass"im losing respect for this guy....
going into the fight, i was drinking the 'nito koolaid... fought 4 times a year, KO's, etc... whats not to like?
i can almost forgive his lack of adjustment against rigo... but statements like these really drives that final nail in the coffin.
the dude needs to be like, "i got my arse boxed off, period... i want a rematch"... but instead, we get a million excuses. not a good look. i dont care how many times you watch the fight, the winner was clear.Comment

I really get tired of hearing Boxers make excuses. Now and then there is a real reason but there are holes in Donaires excuses that don't add up. It's like I said a while back, Donaire has shown a bit of Prima Donna and I was hoping the Loss would have humbled him. It did not; at least not on the outside. All Donaire had to say was it wasn't his night and Rigo beat him fair and square. Then Donaire would get respect. Show some ***ing dignity, Donaire.Last edited by richardt; 04-16-2013, 10:51 AM.Comment

I was tellin' ya'll after the fight. I don't know what fight you Rigo fans were watching. Donaire applied the pressure, showed good defense and got the knockdown. He won that fight even by a slight margin. You can't win a fight by running. If Donaire wasn't pressuring would Rigo be running? No. That means Donaire had the better ring generalship.Look Donaire is one of my favorite fighters but you guys are delusional, the vast majority of the fight Rigo was right there in front of Donaire but he wouldn't let his hands go, Rigo was the first to fire in many instances and got the better of the exchanges. I don't know how you can score some of those rounds for Donaire i.e the 4th when Donaire landed a beautiful left hook but then ate 3 hard shots backI agree with Donaire after re-watching the fight. Both fighters won 6 rounds in my scorecard but Rigondeaux getting knocked down in the 10th cost him the fight 114-113 for Donaire. Rigondeaux was running all throughout the night and would not engage with Donaire who was coming forward.
