If the odds are worth the risk, sure. Otherwise this fight is a great example of one I wouldn't touch with someone else's money, let alone my own.

I said either Rigo would win via decision putting on a clinic or Doanire would KO him. I just thought it would be really hard for Rigo to avoid Donaire for 12 rounds but I think Donaire made a huge mistake in respecting him too much. He should have come out and pressured more and made it a dirty fight. Instead he tried to outbox Rigo and nobody is doing that.

I never bet with my heart.
Ahh I was just curious. But I think there's a reason why Donaire respect Rigo so much tho. Did you see how hard he was getting hit? And not just that but everytime Donaire hit Rigo Rigo would answer back harder and everytime Rigo made him miss Donaire looked clueless.

I'm not a betting guy but if I was I couldn't find myself betting on Canelo. Considering his past opposition, lack of defense and iffy stamina I just couldn't do it. But I just think this is a good fight to bet on the "underdog".

the great part about being a grown man is having the right to spend your dough on essentially whatever the f#ck you'd like. i won't tell you how to spend yo paper.

i will say this, though: 1000 is a lot to be spending on what's basically a pick em fight on paper that features an undefeated southpaw. canelo could have a lot of problems with trout. if trout can use the ring, and is fast/slick enough to launch offense that canelo can't return, then it will be a long night

now, that said, i think there are some things that go in canelo's favor as well. trout is not a power puncher, or the sort of fighter that has a style to impress on scorecards. and he'll really have to put a tattooing on canelo to win the decision, given that canelo is the heir apparent according to goldenboy.

I get the exact same sense, Dan.

To me, this is such a hard fight to call.

Not so much because of the styles, just solely because Canelo is so unproven so far. I simply don't know how he deals with a guy who's in his prime, bigger than him, fast, footspeed, reach, jab.

This fight to me, is more about learning about these fighters (more so Canelo). What they're capable of. We'll learn if he can cut off a ring effectively for example. And IF he can, then in my mind there's a good shout he wins. But what if he can't? If he can't, I don't see him winning. Canelo has to be set to throw his combinations, and unless he can effectively cut off the ring with Trout, I see him struggling.

Point being, I wouldn't go near this fight, from a betting stand point, with a barge-pole.

Not that I'm a big gambler but I have some people talking some ish and I think I can win some easy money. I picked Canelo from the beginning because of his strength and youth, it has nothing with him being Mexican.

Like I said , I never bet with my heart. It is a tough fight to call though and I will be in Atlantic City this weekend working a fight so I don't even know if I will catch the fight.

Canelo winning certainly isn't out of the depths or reality.

Gun to my head, I'd probably pick Canelo. But, I keep changing from one to the other solely because the more I think about the fact Canelo hasn't seen anything close to Trout, the more questions mark's arise.

Point is, it's way too risky to bet $1000 on something with so many question marks at this stage.

My advice would be; A resounding no.

I'm thinking of putting a G on Canelo. I just lost $300 on Donaire, so I need to make it back.

add to all of that stuff some the old goldenboy magic on the scorecards

this is a great fight from the perspective of a fight fan, but not so much for ********.

canelo may very well be the smart bet, given the likelihood of a decision
