mathysse is pretty much looking for a high profile fights himself so i dont know why a belt is irrelevant... also , since there suppose to be a tourney , why does it matter if mathysse loses his mandatory then? does'nt make sense




i find that hard to believe given the only reason IBF refused this unification is because interim belt is not a recognized world title belt......

In this situation u can't obviously. I don't think u understand what's going on here. In order to fight for a title one man is gonna have to drop theirs. The IBF won't unify with an interim belt. And without that neither man can unify a title. So either one man drops his title or they fight without the belts being on the line. Its quite simple. No way in hell should Peterson drop his title for an interim belt. So there's only one realistic option

Compared to Garcia and everyone else at 140, I think he is.

Sure Garcia beat Khan, but again, Peterson just beat Khan one fight prior. Garcia stepped in at the last minute because of the testing thing. It still doesn't change that Khan was coming off a loss.

Then, why didn't Garcia fight Olusegun instead of Morales? Why, because of some rematch clause? Please GB does what they wanna do, when they wanna do it. There's a work around for everything. If they really wanted Garcia to fight Olusegun, the mandatory, it would've happened.

Then instead of fighting Mathysse now, he's fighting Judah. This fight has been a joke since day 1. I don't care the Judah beat Mathysse a "few years" ago. Or Judah beat Vernon Paris who has accomplished zelch. We all know what happens to Judah every time he's on the main stage. He chokes. Then I hear all this stuff about it being some east coast thing because Judah sells tickets. That's BS. It's because they want him far away from Mathysse as possible.

This is no different than what Bute tried to pull off during the SS and what Canelo's been doing. Let all the elite guys in the division x each other out while I sit back sitting pretty.

So again, comparing Garcia's schedule to Mathysse's and I think he is being put through the ringer.

It's a tournament. The #1 seed is supposed to get the easier road:

1 seed Garcia
2 seed Matthysse
3 seed Peterson
4 seed Judah

You put the 1 vs. the 4 and the 2 vs the 3.

And any elite fighter beats Lamont Peterson. He's a good fighter but that's where it stops.

This is a fight that Matthysse should win.

You know what would happen if Matthysse won that IBF title?

He loses his WBC mandatory spot.

His best route to stardom is through this tournament and a fight against Danny Garcia. He's got bigger things in store for him than this IBF title.

Of course u lose it if u participate in a title fight. What do u think u get to hold it in your back pocket in case u lose? U can't be champion in one org and still be ranked #1 contender in another. That's a unification. Or are u assuming he loses? Either way it makes perfect sense.

ok , 2 have diffrent titles , one IBF world , and the other wbc interim .. let's say both are legit world titles, how would mathysse lose his title if only the IBF is on the line ?..so unless they have a different rule for the interim belt , i dont see how is that possible...

If you look at it that way Garcia and Peterson are the only one's without a loss so they should be #1 and #2.

You can't say all prior fights should be considered then dismiss Matthysse vs. Judah.

Sure I can, especially when Judah just got KO'd by Khan 2 fights ago.

We're talking about Jose Suiliaman. You think he's going to let Matthysse keep his interim belt and the IBF belt?

Because in order to have both belts at the sane time u have to unify. Its either that or drop one. So the orgs have to agree to let it be a unification. If not, u drop one belt. The orgs don't agree so someone as to drop a belt. It really is no difference. Thats the definition of a unification. How should u be allowed to unify and not have your belt on the line anyways? So u can get the other belt but u cant lose yours? That's not really a unification.
