Because a tournament is happening. All of these individual belts are irrelevant because only one man will be standing when all of these fights are completed. If Matthysse is as good as people think he is, he will have cleaned out 140 and nobody will give a **** about the IBF title.

Nobody is a real champion right now. They are all contenders until they fight each other and one man remains.

If GBP doesn't go through with this tournament idea they will be crucified in the eyes of the public. In the promo for this fight they labeled it the "first leg" of the 140 pound tournament.

Lamont's belt is obviously being saved for the Amir rematch. Does it matter though? Matthysse is getting a free shot at Garcia regardless.

Peterson is gonna beat Matthysse, not sure why everyone just went crazy for him, I think he's a great fighter but I don't see him as the best one at 140. He beat Devon and Judah in my eyes too but they really were close fights, and those guys aren't that special at 140. I really hope Judah spanks Garcia but i don't see that happening either. Anyways, Peterson is a beast at this weight too, the only guy I see going to 140 and being better than the rest is Broner. The rest are all A class fighters with heart, skill, power, just ****ing disgusting sick fighters I love this division, but Broner is the only that stands out with his skills and abilities, he's unproven but then again everyone starts somewhere so we;ll see how it goes
