Lucas don't need that IBF belt
he'll beat Peterson and then he'll beat Garcia
after that he'll have the 1 belt that actually matters
Peterson shouldn't have that damn belt anyway, he robbed Khan

It makes you wonder what the motivation of this is. Could the WBC be playing hardball behind the scenes? Could GBP be doctoring down the fight in "supposed importance" so they can say no to pressures for USADA or Vada testing due to the fight now being an undercard fight so the testing is not in the finances etc?

i like mathysse, but he does not sell yet. at all.

it's a b#tch move to make, but i can see why they're doing it. they're covering their bases to make sure peterson has a big gate at his next fight (after he loses,) probably in DC.
Peterson cheats v Khan, gets to keep his world title.

I really don't understand the motivation behind it.

Someone suggested on twitter that if Peterson loses they want him to rematch Amir Khan for the IBF title.

The Garcia-Matthysse winner would then fight Khan and become undisputed?

Why people are mad over this? Most of you guys dont give a damn about the titles. Everyone knows who are the best at the weight class. If they dont want to have the fight sanctioned, it is better for the fighter. A pound that is not dehydrating any of the guys should not matter in a fight that have an exciting tag all over it.

Why should a fighter be called a world champion if he cheats and loses in 2 of his last 3 fights?

It's unjust, and boxing fans have every right to complain.

Each promoter is doing whatever they can to keep their name fighters in a position to make money. Its looking like its going to be pretty bad for the short term. The Khan ww ranking was just disgusting.

It's all about keeping as many Golden Boy fighters with belts as they can. There's all kinds of money to be made with so many GBP fighters holding belts, and the sanctioning organizations have made it clear they won't let these fighters hold multiple belts anyway.

I don't like it, but it's the way these scumbags work. It's a classic ****storm case of boxing corruption, with both Golden Boy and the alphabet groups.
