Macklin is a world class fighter, he beat sturm no matter what anybody says and gave martinez much more trouble in the first half of the fight than chavez did. If GGG did that it would be very impressive

For Christ sake, the guy called out everybody from 154 to 168. It's clear that he wants that fights. And his career basicly started last year when he beat Proksa. So far he's been impresive. You can't say he won't be ATG just now when his career has begun, just like those ******s who said Zou Shiming won't accomplish anything after his very first fight. Come on...
...So you expect someone whose "career started" at the age of 30 to be an ATG?

Its a given Shiming will accomplish far less than GGG. The dude might be falling off by the time he sees 20 pro fights under his belt.

He would finally truley have arrived.

And I think it's very possible. He needs to make a statment in this fight.

Uhm yeah? If he'll be undisputed MW champion and if he beat Ward and if he'll continue to win like now than he'll be ATG. As far of Shiming, judging fighters after first fight is just plain ****** and ignorant. Donaire lost his second pro fight, look where he's now.

I knew Macklin would be the one to step up but I find it hard to give him a chance. It's also hard not to think that Macklin is tailor made for Golovkin. So unless it's a real demolition job not sure how much credit he'll get.

yes, knocking out macklin in impressive fashion would put him up there for a shot at the true championship. idk if i would rank him second or third behind geale (martinez obviously being #1) if he did.

Knowing Buddy McGirt he could take him out in 1.

top 30 top 40, he have the potential to be top 10 or top 5 but Macklin is not a elite fighter

Are you serious right now? How old were Donaire and Hopkins when they first lost? Do you know anything about prime years?
