Here's the thing for me, if Ortiz hadn't have stayed down for 10 seconds would it be an issue? No it wouldn't.

The only thing that differs from when Mayweather hit Mosley while he was talking and when Mayweather hit Ortiz while he was hugging is Mosley didn't go down. Yet Mayweather is praised for that.

If Ortiz didn't go down, and stay down. He would be praised for it.

It was entirely Ortiz' fault. He wants to go in there and play rough and make it a dirty fight then expect a dirty fight. Espect things like that. Expect to get hit after the bell, or low, or an elbow in your face. If you go in there pushing your head into your opponents face in the clinch and jumping in with crazy wild intentional headbutts then stick to it, don't hug, kiss and apologise 3 or 4 times after you do. Stand there in the corner and glare at Mayweather as if to say "Yeah, you elbowed me so I headbutted you. Do something about it". The way Ortiz approached it was completely conflicted. You can't headbutt a guy and expect sympathy when he hits you while you're trying to say sorry when it's a legal punch.

And what is Mayweather supposed to do? He's just been headbutted in the face intentionally. Ortiz has gone out of his way to apologise 3 times. Time is in and it's time to fight. Bare in mind he's surely raging from being headbutted in the face. What's he supposed to do? Wait for him? Mayweather is a veteran and has shown he's not a nice guy in there. He's in his right to punch you in the face in that situation. If you're dumb enough to not protect yourself then that's your fault.

Same here man, same. Fans need to understand that it isn't illegal to use your elbows to block, or use it to intimidate, which Floyd does so very well. This whole throwin' elbows, some like to throw around...I've yet to see Mayweather do that.

What I can't get over is why Ortiz was still hugging and apologizing to Mayweather after the ref called the fight back into action. What an idiot.

Ortiz is a moron and what he did was ridiculous, both the head butt and the prolonged, hug-based apology.

But it was a truly terrible way for a big fight to end, and it was cheap on Floyd's part. Can you see Martinez, Marquez, Ward, Pacquiao doing that? They never have, and Floyd's got some form in this respect.

No sympathy for Ortiz, but I don't give Floyd any praise for doing what he did either. A night best forgotten.

Nah man, that is some memorable stuff right there. I'll never forget the constant cries by the fans as they continuously replayed the two piece in slow mo. The way Floyd plotted it too, looking at the clock and everything.

Ortiz got what he deserved. If i was ortiz an i just butted him, I would have tried to hit in the mouth so he could bleed more, not hug and apologize. I actually had no issues with the headbutt because he may have pissed floyd off enough to fight more offensively and just might make a mistake, but the swing afterwards was overkill. When he got two pieced, I laughed and was thankful I only bought chips to the fight party.

I was disappointed I payed for the fight but Ortiz got what he deserved for headbutting then apologizing so much. He's been boxing long enough to know better than that my coaches tell us don't ever touch gloves once the bell rings cause someone might try to catch you while you are doing that.

Ortiz gave Floyd Stitches the cut was so bad, and it wasnt the first time he tried to headbut floyd, show me somebody thats willing to take that and not respond and ill show you someone who shouldnt be boxing.
